"A pleasant stay in a lovely location"

7.0

The location was lovely and a convenient distance from our destination village. The fish and chip shop next door was great. The cottage was pleasant and spacious and I was grateful for the last minute booking.

I was a taken aback by the £70 cleaning fee when the cottage was not properly clean. the bathrooms, toilets in particular.

Great location. Cosy cottage with good facilities.

Some operating instructions for the microwave would have been helpful. Some of the cups needed rewashing. Lipstick on rim.

"Right next door to a great wee chippy & comfy beds"

7.0

Location & comfy beds

The cutlery in the drawers were dirty & the tray they sit in was filthy- had to wash sharp knife & cutlery before we could use which was a bit of a put off. The front door lock is very awkward too. Had problems locking & opening.

"Ok but not great.."

5.0

Quiet location in small town/village not far from Scarbrough

Cottage was very dated, furniture was uncomfortable, could do with a good clean and decorating. Simple stuff like there was only enough cutlery for 4 even though it sleeps 5.

"Very poor"

The whole place needs a workover. Lack of facilities and decorated in the 70's. Would not return especially for the price.

"Sweet , so much potential but didn’t quite hit the mark ."

6.0

Really lovely village . Sweet little cottage and easy to find . Really comfy bed in the front room . Easy to contact the owner who replied quickly . I forgot tea bag’s and I was so happy to see there were some there ! And soaps and loo roll . Oh and lovely fireplaces ! And well equipped kitchen . The upstairs was a nice size .

It did smell of fish and chips slightly but it is next door to a chip shop so to be expected so that’s fine . The cupboards and drawers were dusty but we didn’t use them anyway . And loads of little spiders . The window in the kitchen wouldn’t lock and the tv in the main bedroom didn’t work . I did message him and he replied and to be honest it was fine . The problem is that a few reviews say exactly the same thing and they haven’t been rectified . Like the tv not working and dusty drawers . And they’re really easy things to fix . Also it says there’s 5 beds which there is .. 2 king size and a single . But there is no way 5 people could stay there . Downstairs there is not enough room . 1 small sofa and a chair . Also the rug didn’t fit . Far too big and overlapped the fire place and folded at the end . It felt like a man’s property . Just lacked that touch and one final thing , there’s no where just to let the dog out last thing at night . There’s no yard / garden / grass verge . Again , not a real issue just faffy
