Single traveller. Room was adequate and very acceptable for the price. Room was clean and quiet. Perfect for a single traveller . Relatively close and within easy walking distance of major Train Station and shopping Mals and shops/restaurants/coffee shops etc.

"Disappointing"

4.0

The basin in the room. It is passable for a night or two. I hope real humans will be reading these comments and act on it

First, the inability to speak to someone, especially if you are arriving late. Second, the electronic security doors are very confusing to operate unless someone guides you through, which is very irritating. In my case, there was no one I had to listen in on another person conversation before I made my way around it. There was no number to call. Third, I admit it is cheap is but do not make it like it looks like it is for complete low lives who have no option. At least make it look reasonable, fixing lights in your bathroom and taking away the pink light in the toilet. It is not a strip club. Lastly, booking.com, you guys are as lousy as this hotel because your irresponsible culture is fostering a lot of these short stay locations. Assuming you were doing in person checks before allowing properties to be enlisted on your site at least customers will have some better value for money.

"Basic hostel-esque room to rest your head, no frills"

5.0

For the price paid, the room was as expected and met my needs. The room and shared facilities were clean enough and there was shampoo, conditioner and a clean towel available in my room.

There were a couple of things that needed fixing - the door handle to the guesthouse was very loose, and there was a curtain that had fallen down in the room I was allocated. The locks to get into the rooms aren't the most intuitive to operate, some doors had signage explaining how to use them but this really needs to be on every door to ensure all guests are clear on how to operate them. If you are struggling, there are YouTube videos out there to help. Traffic noise can be heard from the road in the night, and the internal walls are thin so you can hear other guests very easily. The bed frame is very creaky. If you are seeking a basic room to rest your head with no frills, similar to staying in a hostel, this place will suit your needs. If you are looking for anything more, I would consider somewhere else.

"Just about worth it, owners should address issues."

5.0

Location was fair, 15 mins walk behind Southampton Station. Street was mostly quiet. Not far from Shirley shops and bus stops.

Bedroom curtains fell down in night, put back up myself as staff didn’t respond to message (also didn’t respond to an earlier message about storage). Bed had one pillow, very poor reception on TV, room sink had no plug, shower in nearby bathroom was very poor and shower head wouldn’t stay in holder (Luke warm temperature with hardly any power). Visitors book next to main door, with pen ready, had its last entry March 2024 (13 months before my visit). You can infer something from that.
