Primrose Stays - 3 bedroom House

We liked the location for where we were visiting, the communication prior to our arrival, the check in process and the parking permit were all good points. Unfortunately that’s where it ends, the property could be so much better than it is, the decor and finishes are noticeably poor, more than just expected wear and tear. Aside from this We had two major issues which were cleanliness and safety.

There was no fire alarm on the second floor between the bedrooms, only the mount where it previously was, the closest was in the lounge, but using the sofa bed in the lounge the door needed to be shut for privacy, Meaning the 3 other bedrooms were not adequately covered if a fire broke out in any of the bedrooms, this was very concerning. The bathroom was not only poorly fitted out but the soap scum across most surfaces, corroded hinges and ill fitting toilet seat, coupled with poor ventilation, requiring the window to be open whilst showering, with no blind or window covering, leaving a lot to be desired for any privacy. The floor was the worst point, as it became wet the dirt in the grout became dislodged and much more obvious, this led us to needing to wipe your feet on the way out. The bedding is poor quality, stained, marked and was dirty in places. In one bedroom the bedding smelt slept in/musty leaving the guests feeling as if they were unchanged as they did not seem freshly laundered. The pillows and duvets could do with a deep clean/replacing. The mattress on the double bed in the downstairs bedroom, is the worst quality I’ve ever slept on- could feel every failed spring and in parts the solid divan base below, I would urge the owners to lay on it and replace it ASAP. Sleep was disturbed to say the least. Bizarrely and the creepiest thing was a doll, graffitied in biro found by my 5 year old under the sofa on the morning of our departure due to a hand poking out, luckily we were already leaving, as this might have topped us off the night before!

Excellent location, brilliant communication with Mike from booking to check out, every little thing was catered for, even milk for a welcome brew once we’d settled in! Will be back, thank you!

The bed in the front bedroom was a little uncomfortable but not horrendously so!

We were a family of four staying one night. Accommodation was spotless and had all facilities. There was even milk in fridge and tea and coffee. There was netflix on tv for kids. Host was responsive and helpful even in setting up beds to suit kids.
