Lovely big rooms and views of the countryside

Breakfast was not available until 10am

Location is fabulous.

This building was originally a house and I recognise that it’s been transformed to accommodate a cafe/ tearoom and accommodation, which means that it lacks the privacy of a purpose built hotel/ bed and breakfast. Our garden view was lovely and has a beautiful large bay to sit in; to our surprise, on Sunday morning we heard noise and so we opened the curtains to a fair few people eating or drinking tea. No Sunday morning lie in! This was accompanied by the noise of people in the adjoining rooms departing. The shower ran cold and while staff tried to resolve this, if all rooms use hot water at the same time, there isn’t a sufficient boiler. I gave up with that, as did my partner. This place isn’t budget price, (it attracts and) costs more than we got for our money. It also states a shared kitchen facility at the time of booking, but upon arrival, we were told no, there wasn’t one. ( We had specifically brought food and liquids in to store in a fridge). I asked if we could store food or liquids anywhere and was told no.

It was lovely and different to a b and b. Very quirky. The bed was lush, kingsize

There was no air con that was advertised when booking

Everyone was so kind and friendly. I loved the area, wish I had stayed longer.

Staff, service and location

Everything was perfect

Great location, lovely comfortable room, very clean. The local inn, part of the same company served excellent food , staff were brilliant . Would advise to book a table in advance at busy periods.

Only thing, I would have liked to have had access to hairdryer

Fantastic room with king size bed and comfy chairs in bay window facing lovely view. Excellent shower with spacious bathroom and clean towels alternate days. Breakfast was extra, but superb with delicious homemade baked beans and served freshly cooked on hot plates. Luxurious hot chocolate too! Staff welcoming and helpful.

Would have appreciated decaf coffee as option in our room. Also would have liked more hangers and hooks to hang clothing. Wi-Fi was unreliable and often disconnected.
