Hot water is not good

We traveled as a family group of 4 adults and 2 children so the apartment suited our needs well in terms of the number of rooms and bathrooms. The host was friendly and the instructions to access the apartment were very clear. The beds were comfortable and the A/C worked great. The location is good: it's walkable to the historic area, though there's not a lot to do/see along the way, so we hired a Grab from the apartment every day.

As previous reviewers have mentioned, the bathroom has mould due to the lack of a shower door, so the water goes absolutely everywhere and it's obvious that it hasn't had thorough cleaning. The towels and bed linens, although clean, are old and no longer white. The sofa is stained, and it appeared that the kitchen floor hadn't been properly mopped. The property management company could easily remedy all these somewhat minor issues. The one thing that actually upset us was the "security guard" at the pool: My husband did not plan to swim so was wearing regular shorts and shirt. He was watching the grand-kids in the pool while sitting on the edge and dangling his feet in the water. The security guard came over and told him it wasn't allowed because he wasn't wearing the "proper swim-wear". My husband explained that he wasn't going swimming, but just sitting there to watch the kids. The security guard told him it wasn't allowed. So he moved to stand on the top step so that he could have a clear view of the kids: apparently standing ankle-deep on the top stair while wearing shorts is also a major infraction of the rules and my husband was told to get out. Additionally, one of the other adult males in our group wears a swim-shirt (rash guard) when swimming for sun protection: the security guard argued with him that he wasn't allowed to wear it in the pool. A woman who spoke Malay explained to the guard that it was swim-wear, but the guard insisted he had to come out. We simply ignored him and just tried to enjoy ourselves. The security guard then returned with his cell-phone and repeatedly took photos of us - including the children! The whole situation was absolutely ridiculous and put us off from using the pool for the rest of our stay. We have since read that other reviewers have had a similar experience.

The location is central and the place is clean and well decorated putting guests comfort in mind.

The bathroom shower fixture badly needed to be replaced.

Needs a little bit TLC … shower wobbly … bedroom door had issue but was resolved quickly . Lift fob temperamental otherwise all good Security team not very pleasant . Pool security attendant not at all friendly . Abrupt and felt should not have been there but did not distract from the rest . His demeanour is definitely not typical of Malay people
