Amazing stay here, so warm and cosy. Perfect for a little getaway to switch off and enjoy your surroundings. David could not have been more welcoming. Would recommend anyone to stay here

Nothing not to like.

Extremely private. Plenty of security. We had bikes on the car and weren’t worried about them one bit.

Location was fabulous. Beautiful setting by the river. So quiet and peaceful. David was a great host - welcoming and friendly. We had a lovely stay.

The cottage was in a most idyllic situation. Our hosts were welcoming and friendly. The cottage had everything you could want for the perfect holiday or break. If you want walks then you have more than enough to choose from. All following a beautiful river, right on your doorstep. There is virtually nothing to intrude into the peace and quiet of the surroundings. The ideal place to chill out, calm down, relax and surrender away from everyday living. We can highly recommend a stay at Bear Cottage with no reservations. Thank you David and Frankie. We will return. Promise.

The cottage is in a beautiful location, tucked away deep in the valley amongst nothing but trees and streams.

All good - Everything we needed was provided, the beds were really comfy, shower was great and an added bonus of decent Wi-Fi, Netflix and Prime TV.

Lovely little man-cave! Comfortable, and well-equipped, considering what a very compact property this is. Lovely spacious shower room, with excellent shower. Wonderfully peaceful location. Friendly hosts.

My husband coped perfectly well with the approx 1.5 mile drive up narrow, single track lane, full of potholes, with steep drop on one side. Thankfully we didn't meet any other traffic on either of our 2 return trips up & down, but that wouldn't be good for a nervous driver! No freezer, and the fridge had no icebox, so nowhere to refreeze our icepacks (I didn't think to ask our host if he could freeze them for us in his freezer). No wardrobe or drawers for clothes, but enough space on the bedroom floor for 2 open suitcases. No empty kitchen cupboards for our food, etc., but a big worktop cum dining table, and floor space in the sitting area sufficed for our needs. No lids for any of the 3 (good, heavy-bottomed) saucepans or frying pan, but I managed to cook a much-appreciated noodle, bacon & veg dinner, nonetheless.

Bear Cottage . We loved it . Excellent family run hosts Dave and Frankie . The situation is idyllic at Bear Cottage with great private parking and easy access to the Cottage itself . Huge private lawn . With two streams bordering the properties all you hear is birdsong and waterfalls ,it's truly beautiful. The Cottage itself is equipped well with all mod cons Excellent WiFi so you can use WhatsApp or email to contact the outside world. Great central location for visiting local beauty spots such as Machynlleth, Centre of Alternative Technology CAT, Aberdovey, Ynyslas beach , Aberystwyth etc . Would definitely return to do more exploring and local walking.

Location is extremely remote but beautifully quiet. Stunning surroundings. Interesting objects and art in the house and great wildlife around. House had all you would expect. Cracking shower as well!

Could have done with a little more light in the bedroom and over the kitchen table.
