The Heathcock Boutique Hotel - Room 1

The bed was so comfy, the bathroom has lovely large shower and bath and they had a coffee machine

Great location for Blackweir fields - Short 30-40 mins walk along river to the fields . Also near the Cathedral and some nice coffee shops and bars.

Road was a bit noisy but it was a hot day so hard windows open. We still slept well though

Room 1 had such lovely decor and was very spacious! Super comfortable. It was also lovely that they had a good coffee machine in the room with fresh milk. The bakery associated with the Heathcock (about a 5-minute walk away) gave us a discount as we were guests at the Inn, and it was very yummy! Very close to a local high street with quaint shops/cafes. You can walk to Blackweir Park in about 45 minutes during the day; however, after dark, your best bet is to get a 5/10 minute Uber.

Location is great to go in the centre of Cardiff.

It seems that the staff of the pub was not expecting us or did not show any welcome. The room on the street was noisy and the windows are too old to be soundproof. For breakfast, it is ,mentioned that there was not available but for a "boutique" we were expected more than to be given the address of another business owned by the Hotel landlord. Price was out of what we got from it but it was a Rugby week-end so I guess it was time to make profit. We did not understand why the sink was so high. Cardiff will remain a souvenir but not thanks to the place where we stayed. Pity.

Room decor, location, several coffee shops & cathedral nearby, staff welcoming, easy check in&out

Two flights of stairs to get to room, 1st were narrow wooden, fine for us but may be difficult for some.
