The Old Mill Bed & Breakfast

Stayed here a couple of days while our own house in the area was being repaired. Gillian and Lee were fantastic hosts and couldn't have been more accommodating and helpful. They let us check in early and keep our bags in the room, despite not knowing if we were going to stay another night. The breakfasts were fantastic with loads of fresh fruit and cereals and tons of options for a cooked breakfast. Delicious breakfast and very welcome as we'd not really been eating properly for a couple of days (no kitchen at home). Even though we booked a double room they let us stay in the family room because it was available. It was large and very comfortable, and we really appreciated the comfort of a warm shower (no bathroom at home either!!). The mill house itself has an amazing history and they've done fantastic job of restoring it. Worth a visit just to see the old mill cogs in the breakfast area and read the history they have so lovingly documented. Check it out on their website - Biggar Old Mill. The place is dog friendly. We dont have a dog at present and we couldn't tell it was dog friendly, it was so clean and well presented. Thanks again Gillian and Lee.

The room was modern, very fresh, clean and spacious. The have done an amazing job renovating this beautiful mill and we really enjoyed seeing the natural stream. Our hosts were really friendly and we enjoyed breakfast which was cooked to perfection and tailored to individual preferences, plenty of choice of fresh fruits,cereals and yogurts.

Absolutely nothing, the attention to detail made the stay very comfortable.

The location was perfect for us. It was a stopover on our way to a hospital appointment in Edinburgh. The access to our room was private, direct access from outside. It was extremely dog friendly, perfect for our border collie. There was a park just across the road. The room was clean and comfortable with everything we needed, including a good supply of biscuits. Our host was very friendly and the breakfast was excellent.

I'm only sorry, because of poor weather and time constraints, we didn't get to explore the local dog walks.

Alles. Von dem Zimmer über das hervorragende Frühstück bis hin zum Betreiberehepaar ist alles perfekt. Besonders die freundliche und familiäre Athmosphäre trägt zu einem rundum super Urlaubsfeeling bei.

Wohl das beste B&B, dass wir in den letzten Jahren in Irland und UK besucht haben. Ein absolutes Kleinod!

An old mill restored to a bed and breakfast place, so cool! Very clean, Gillian is lovely, excellent bed, nice room; what’s not to love? Oh, don’t forget the unbelievable shower, I didn’t want to get out of it 🤣

From arrival we just knew we booked the correct place. The owner was so lovely and allowed us to check in early due to commitments that day. The room was fantastic, clean, comfy, modern, and spacious. Breakfast the following morning was delicious 😋..will definitely be back to stay if we are ever in that area again! Xx
