The Bay Tree Bed & Breakfast

Couldn't thank Anita and Mick enough for such a lovely getaway for my husband's birthday trip. The attention to details and the little touches truly makes this place a 10/10. They both made the place feel very oriented around their guests and their comfort. Would recommend this place to anyone. Breakfasts were amazing and included options for everyone’s tastes. Homemade cakes for a mid day snack and even a book full of handmade hiking maps. I could go on….

Couldn’t fault it

There wasn’t a single thing that we didn’t like….the family room was huge. Plenty of room for myself, my partner & my two daughters, aged 12 and 14. The bathroom was of a great size with both a bath and walk in shower with fresh towels for us all. All amenities you could wish for within the room (kettle - tea, coffee & hot chocolate, Lindt chocolates & biscuits too). There was also a cupboard with crisps and chocolates, etc in the dining area, we were just asked to pop something in the honesty box if we took anything. Absolutely lovely place!!

That we didn’t stay there for longer!!! 😉

Anita and Mick were wonderful hosts - friendly, helpful and very welcoming. The accommodation was spotless with so many thoughtful additions. Our room was huge and had everything we could need. Located in a great spot for exploring the Peak District or a country walk.

Anita and Mick were lovely hosts and very accommodating. They were very knowledgeable of the area and the bird watching when having breakfast was lovely.

Only issue we had was with the tv signal and WiFi on occasion but it did not impact our stay that much.

The Hosts at The Bay Tree are very helpful with local knowledge. The location is beautiful and the breakfasts exceptional. Nothing is too much trouble and the small details make for an excellent stay

Nothing to dislike

We had great communication from the very start, with local recommendations for restaurants. Anita kindly allowed us a late check in and we were met promptly and made to feel very comfortable. The accommodation is kept very clean and to a very high standard, with excellent facilities. I loved the small touches such as water in the fridge, filtered water and fresh milk. Upon arrival we found a card in our room to wish us a Happy Anniversary as I had mentioned we were celebrating our 25th year together. I even found a sewing kit in a drawer. Not any places offer them small but sometimes required touches I have to mention, the whole place smelt clean and pleasant. The bed was very comfortable, as evidenced by the lay-ins we managed to have. We almost missed breakfast on our 2nd morning. The rooms have blackout blinds , and I mean proper black out blinds. There are plenty of plug sockets in the room, and our room had a fridge, iron and board, TV, shower, kettle and plenty of storage space for belongings. Breakfast was great, with a wide variety of options for all dietary requirements. We really enjoyed the fresh fruit with yogurt and the English Fried Breakfast. Nothing was too much trouble. We enjoyed seeing the birds out of the window going about there day. Beautiful. When we arrived back after our first day out we saw there were homemade treats to eat in the dining area - which was a lovely touch. Anita and Mick obviously care very much for their guests and are very good at what they are doing. We enjoyed chatting with Anita, Mick and the other guests, and The Bay Tree just had a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Anita was very personable with each guest I observed her interacting with. We drove there and managed to park on the large driveway, alongside 3 other larger cars. There are plenty of places to relax if you don't wish to stay in your room. There are tables and chairs outside and there is seating in the dining area.

Leaving 😞 if I didn't have work on Bank Holiday Monday we would have been tempted to extend our stay.

What an absolutely beautiful place to stay. We were visiting Alton Towers for the weekend and the location couldn't have been better. The beds were super comfortable, the rooms spacious and spotless. Breakfast was delicious. The attention to detail really made it for us, games to play in the evening, all the little touches like the cakes which were very kindly left for us on arrival. We will 100% be back! What an absolute gem. Thankyou Anita :)
