Elegant 1-BR Flat Roman Road

Quiet area and peaceful occupation; and the host came and tried to help when we were struggling to understand the microwave-oven; but although we coped with all the things we didn't like, we think we will not book this flat again and that even the name (Elegant), as well as some of the pictures, on the Booking.com website mislead people such as ourselves.

No table to eat at; no chairs; no "desk" (just a low storage-table in front of settee); "wardrobe" (as shown closed in photo) was plastic with only removable shelves but the rail at top was missing (we found none, and no hangers); badly designed set of four hooks on lounge-door; only plastic forks; no coffee-pot; no water-jug; no mixing-bowl; no stemmed wine-glasses; only one tea-towel; built-in oven was microwave-only (unfamiliar to us); uncleaned skirting in ensuite toilet/washbasin/shower with no shelf-space in that room for wash-things; grotty grey fitted carpeting in bedroom & lounge/kitchen; two plastic bowls of artificial flowers (cheap and nasty to us); £20 charge for cleaning included in price but no sign of careful cleaning having been done.

Location was easily accessible

Cleanliness - the passageway to the flat was unkempt and littered with dirt and paper.  Bedsheets - the pillow was old and worn and one of the pillow cases had what appeared to be blood stains.  Bed / Mattress - the divan bed base was broken in two areas which was quite noticeable. The mattress was old, worn and very uncomfortable. Fridge had ants crawling on the inside Bathroom - the carpet cover strip by the bathroom door had nails sticking out - potential trip and injury hazard Bathroom light - missing lamp cover Bathroom cubicle - (grime and dirt) would do with replacing the silicone seals

There was ants all over the kitchen and living room messaged the owner and no reply we couldn’t stay in there

The price and how homely and cozy it felt. Asked for late checkout and he was able to accomodate

Little imperfections, etc rips in the carpet, stained bedside table, floor bracket in the bathroom doesn’t let the door shut

Nothing really but the cleaner should clean the wash hand basin as there was hair stuck in the basin and it smells bad

Comfortable and spacious rooms

For a "no smoking" policy they don't actually enforce anything about the people smoking weed within their apartments one person literally had a bong in the front window of the building.
