Deluxe Huge Detached House with Parking, sleeps up to 30 people, 2m from Liverpool City Centre

Amazing house and very close to town. We enjoyed our stay.

Upon arrival to the Denman House, it could be said that it needs some work and maintenance doing in its exterior. However, once past the threshold, it becomes evident that this property is extremely deceptive! We were amazed at how grand, large and well presented this house was. It was clean, clutter free and fresh smelling. The flooring is beautiful, so happy to see that it was there. Everything that is needed for an easy and comfortable stay is available within the house. We'll equipped and the gorgeous kitchen is well catered for, with its huge refrigerators. The rooms themselves vary from size and style. There were more than enough duvets, pillows and cushions! The beds themselves also varied in size and comfort of mattresses. My family were thoroughly impressed with how each room had its own personality and flare. The old features really add great character to the property and we were all happy they were kept and used within modernising the house. The decor of the property was lovely and we really loved how the homely feel ran throughout the house. We felt this was a fabulous stay, made easier by Sean, who was on hand and got back to use straight away IF there were any issues. The children thoroughly enjoyed themselves, exploring the rooms and relaxing in the main room. Overall, we had an absolute pleasant stay at Denman House. Couldn't have asked for better. ⁸ Thank you Sean and team!

The property was a great size.

On arrival at the property, we were immediately disappointed. The driveway was full of overgrown weeds and it looked like an abandoned house. The hallway had not been swept and it was generally untidy. A couple of the guests of the hen party had to clean areas of the house themselves and hoover from top to bottom before the bride arrived. The tiles in the hallway are a hazard and slip out of place when you step on them. The ceiling in the lounge is horrendous and looks as though it is about to fall through (see pictures). The carpets were stained and the walls were mostly damaged. Several of the bedroom ceilings had what looked like damp/mould, and the paint/plaster was peeling from the ceilings. One of the bedrooms had a hanging sheet instead of a curtain. The back garden was again full of weeds and rat droppings and could not be used. We saw many rats. We appreciate that the house is situated fairly close to the centre, however we felt as though we could have been pre-warned about the safety of the location. We witnessed arguments and drug deals taking place on the street outside the house. Multiple taxi drivers who dropped us off at the house were concerned about our safety because the area has such a poor reputation. We understand that these are issues which are not down to the owners of the property, however given the house is hired to hens, we feel as though some warning should have been given. It did not feel safe. We were optimistic when we booked the house as it has so many good reviews, however we were left baffled as to who has left these reviews as they do not reflect our experience. We appreciate that everyone has different standards, however everyone who attended the hen party was on the same page in that this property was not worth the money spent, was highly disappointing and needs some care and attention before it is hired out again. Overall, given the money spent, we would not recommended.

Gorgeous property! we had an amazing stay for a hen party. Location was excellent, nice quiet area and only a short taxi ride into the centre.
