"Lovely annex in a fantastic location."

Fantastic location in a beautiful village with plenty of local walking. This is also a really good base from which to explore The Jurassic Coast. The property itself was very well presented,with a spacious bathroom and adequate kitchen facilities for a short stay. We had a great night in the local pub, which offers good food, live music and is very friendly and welcoming.

We really did like The Captain’s Retreat. However, for us, we felt the living area was a little cramped with the bedroom and ‘lounge area’ in one fairly small room. This meant that if one person wanted to go to bed, the other could not watch television or listen to music.

"Quiet and comfy"

The Captain's Retreat is a great place. Ideal location, quiet and comfortable. Perfect place to take our old dog. Kevin, the host, was really helpful, excellent communication.

We liked the village and the pub. It was great to be able to walk our dog on the fields opposite.

It would have been good to have an oven but presumably there isnt enough space.

"A real gem close to the beautiful Dorset coast"

Peaceful location with amazing views, lovely walks straight from the door, great host, nice pub in walking distance, short drive to amazing beaches. Lovely comfy retreat finished to a high specification with all the amenities needed for an amazing stay.

Great location to get to a lot of lovely places. The house had everything we needed and was comfortable and quiet. Great for dog walks as right next to fields. We had a great 5 days here.

We were here for 5 days, and the only thing we could say is that a few more hangers would have been good so that we could have unpacked a bit more, but not really an issue, we couldn't fault the Captains Retreat really.
