The Captain's Retreat, Quiet 1 Bed Dog Friendly

The host was very friendly and welcoming. Puncknowle is a small village but well located for nearby towns of Bridport and Dorchester and the Jurassic Coast in general. The property is well appointed and for those not wishing to cook an evening meal, there is a village pub (The Crown) which serves good food and local ales. Hoopers Lane, where the property is located is a no through road and if you miss the property entrance, you need to reverse back. The only improvement/suggestion we would make is to have The Captain's Retreat on the roadside at the property entrance. The name does appear on the property itself but this isn't at the roadside. We very much enjoyed our stay and may well make a return visit.

Property very comfortable and clean

Couple of points such as toilet seat broken and bathroom door lock broken but small things which could easily be fixed.

Amazing location, very convenient for the Dorset Ridgeway and Chesil Beach.

Great location, secluded village. Adequately equipped, clean & modern.

Ideal for a couple of nights stay. Gorgeous area with dog walks from the door and pubs within a short walk. Very comfortable, especially the bed.

We liked the location, excellent for dog walks. The accommodation was of a high standard, very clean with up-to-date furnishings. We met our host, who was very pleasant and friendly.

No real complaints, but black-out curtains would be nice.

Property offers amazing views across the countryside the property is very well maintained and has virtually all equipment you would need if you decided to stay in and do your own cooking etc the bed is amazingly comfortable tea coffee cleaning stuff all supplied host on hand for any queries just the perfect place if you wish to relax for a few days and forget the world

This is not a criticism but would be better if sockets were usb for charging
