Quiet 3 bedroom house 2 min walk from UNESCO shrines

The best place we stayed in our 2 week Japan trip by a long shot. Truly exceptional place, close to all the main sites, well-built house with a beautiful garden, fully-equipped with all the appliances like you'd expect in a real home. Everything works and is good quality. The host even went out his ways to collect us from the train station and gave some complimentary food and drinks in the fridge. Really impressed.

Nothing. We even talked about come back for a stay here again in autumn.

Thoughtful host who stocked the fridge with breakfast essentials, plus a couple of beers and a sake bottle—such a nice touch. Free umbrellas came in handy during the rainy days. Quiet, peaceful house within walking distance of Nikko Toshogu and nearby shrines. Pro tip: take the bus from the station—it's up a hill. Would definitely stay again.

A beautiful house in an amazing location. A short walk to the town or the temples. Restaurants and bar nearby. So peaceful and a wonderful place to spend our last few days in Japan. Ian the host is super helpful. I would recommend this property, it has everything.

This single house is simply perfect. I strongly recommend it to visitors in the area and will hopefully be back.

We loved the quiet and peaceful surrounding with a beautiful garden. The guest house is also great and provides everything you need. Ian gave us a lift from and to the train station, which really helped with heavy luggage. He also provided some breakfast provisions. All in all we were really happy.

Absolutely stunning home set in the hills above Nikko and practically within the footprint of Toshugu shrine this was a real pleasure. Ian was the consummate host. 5 stars!

We loved our stay here! It is a beautiful home in the best location. The hosts were great - friendly and helpful. If this place is open and you are looking for a place to stay in Nikko, book it - you will not regret it! Every little detail has been thought out and it combines both modern Japanese living with a lot of traditional Japanese touches. It is very spacious and clean. The garden is beautiful. We were there when there were surprise snow showers (March) and it made both the home, garden and Nikko even more magical.
