Maalu Maalu Resort & Spa - Thema Collection

Wow, this place blew our minds. Absolutely stunning resort right on the beach - even better than pictured. The food was also sensational (fried butter prawns in particular), rooms beautiful and the staff rounded out the experience. All of the staff were lovely and went over and above to ensure we had a great stay. Ruchi (the animator) was a highlight. He proactively engaged my three year old son on the first day and by day two were fast friends - making our stay even more relaxing and enjoyable. We were there for 3 nights and while I normally want to get out and about - I was really happy to spend the whole time at the resort. Can’t recommend Maalu Maalu any higher

Es war ein super tolles Hotel, gutes Essen und extrem freundliche Mitarbeiter Toller Blick zum Meer und schöner Pool.

Da wir in der off Season waren waren viele Restaurants außerhalb des Hotels geschlossen, ich würde daher empfehlen eher in der Season zu fahren wenn ihr viel erleben wollt.

On the beach which was clean and we could swim in the sea. Lovely swimming pool too!

There’s not a lot in the area outside the hotels on the beach so a car is useful. Food in the hotel is expensive by Sri Lankan standards and it was a shame that evening meals in the restaurant did not start until 7.30pm which we found late for the children. No outside view from within the room.

Beautiful location and great room for a family! Staff were fantastic. Ruban looked after us so well at the pool and Ruchira was so friendly and great playing cricket and volleyball with our son. Wonderful massage with Dilukshi!

Lovely location of pool immediately adjacent to beach. Staff were all very friendly and helpful. Pool was a good size with plenty of loungers. Having a few t ables & chairs around the pool too may be nice. Very nice pool/beach bar.

Food at dinner wasn't so good. Meat was very tough. Chicken curry was mainly bones with sauce. Breakfast was good though.

Excellent breakfast with lots of options and a beautiful swimming pool were the highlights.

No natural light in the room apart from frosted glass in side windows- this is a negative for me. Evening dining started at 7.30pm which was too late for the children. We did have one evening meal which, though expensive by Sri Lankan prices, was very good. We tried the beach bar one eve inv but food orders took a long time.
