Huge space and amazing views

The apartment was really big and the check in directions were clear. Free parking.

Communication was not good. There was no password visible for WiFi, messaged the host asking for it and never got an answer. The heating in one of the rooms didn't work. Surroundings of the building were quite dirty, lots of rubbish on the floor all around.

The property was a decent size and the beds were comfortable.

The smell immediately outside the internal door of the flat was vile and smelled like a mixture of cat urine and human urine. I mention this was outside the interior door to the flat so as not to confuse with the main entrance, lift or stair area as this was 100% the responsibility of the owner of this apartment. It was so bad that by the time we got the door open 1 of our group was physically sick in the bathroom and spent the rest of the evening not wanting to come back out and experience the smell again. There is absolutely no excuse for this, before we even entered the flat we had serious concerns about hygiene. There is good reason there are only internal photos of this property, the property it located in one of the worst apartment blocks in the city and would not look out of place in Beirut.

The location was good for getting in and out of Edinburgh and the rooms were big so if you have a lot of people you definitely wouldn’t feel on top of each other. Close to shops as well.

Flat is not well maintained and generally looks like it needs some TLC. When we arrived there was no soap in any bathrooms and no guest info so had to call them for wifi. Some rooms had windows that didn’t close fully and no safety latches which is very dangerous on 7th floor so would not recommend to anyone with children. There is a lift for the first 6 floors but last floor you have to take stairs. Given a key to get into the flat building but it actually didn’t lock so not very secure. Definitely not ample parking, we struggled to park throughout our stay - don’t book if you hate parallel parking! Overall probably to be expected for 225 a night when it sleeps 8 people, but personally would pay more to stay somewhere nicer.

Bedrooms were spacious and comfortable beds

Not sure “penthouse” is the best description. Very small lounge. Not enough hand soap. No washing up liquid and no coffee. On the whole a bit grubby and outside was full of litter. Advertised as free parking but that was on the road. Terrible Communication re heating and early check in (and facilities eg hairdryer). Confusing information re flat number

The inside of apartment is excellent, especially during winter. Warm, clean and spacious inside.

The surroundings of the apartment during winter are not seriously cleaned. The apartment looked like an old building.

Great size and very comfortable

Water pressure not great, so showers were not very powerful
