1 Martello Beach 8 berth holiday home with pools

Comfortable fit a family of five without feeling like you’re on top of each other, perfect distance from beaches, including a smaller village down the road, with a local pub , fish and chips and “beach” market 10 minute drive from Hastys farm, for £50 for all of us, easily spent half a day there, took our own picnic , and and a 15 minute drive from Clacton pier , spending a whole day down the sea front the location to us felt very convenient!! We didn’t use any facilities on site, as you had to pay for a pass after working out the cost it was nearly £70 for our 4 nights and after speaking with the kids, they didn’t show much interest in wanting to use the arcades on site or swimming pool, but the option is there. Including a small shop, or 15 -20 minute drive to Asda if you wanted more than a few bits. The host was brilliant, very friendly and accommodating, quick responses to any messages , very simple to access the caravan and very easy to clean up and check out with the host :) which is what I personally like on holidays , less to no stress and straight forward

The host was wonderful, very quick at responding to any messages we had, no waiting for any information, however lack of dinning table made dinner time a bit problematic with a baby , but we made it work :) , using the smaller coffee table , large enough for 4 of us to sit around and like I say managed with the baby ☺️

The beds were clean and the sun shone.

No dining table or chairs. Only 2 rings working on the cooker. Only 2 of 6 lights working in the lounge area. Cobwebs in the bathroom, and cistern needed to be primed on every flush to refill. Trip hazard with carpet not fitted into joiner, screws standing proud of the metal joiner.

On the picture there was a dining table and chairs but when we got there was no dining table.

Food in local cafe is quite expensive but tasty.

WiFi only in public areas. Not easy to get there from the station by bus, you may wait 1-2 hours. The best way to get there is by taxi. We used "Swan"- excellent service).

The location not far from other destinations. Lots to do for children. Has everything you need on the site really and not too expensive to be fair

The caravan where we stayed didn’t have a table so grandchildren to eat. Reception wasn’t very helpful as we were booked privately they wouldn’t help us for extra linen so had to buy some

Well what can I say the place was horrific it was filthy the kitchen was absolutely disgusting. We couldn’t use any of the facilities I couldn’t even bear myself to cook in the cooker because it was that dirty absolutely disgusting dreadful. I read the reviews and thought I’ll book it, because there were some really nice reviews, but obviously when we went in ourselves it smelt of cigarettes if anyone’s booking to stay here, please do not book this caravan is absolutely disgusting. The clothes has things on it. I’m not sure if you left the bedsheets were changed. The cushions are absolutely dreadful. I’m sure they could go and pick some up from IKEA, they’re really not that expensive And we ended up paying £300 for it. We probably thought we got a bargain but next time I’d rather pay a little bit more and stay somewhere where I can be more comfortable

The place itself is lovely the area the bars are really nice it was just the caravan itself that was just such a disappointment it was money thrown away We were booked up until Monday and we came home on Sunday because we couldn’t bear to stay there any longer
