Cosy Garden Accommodation, Private Hot Tub & Four Poster Bed

Beautiful flat and pretty garden with hot tub. Collette was amazing and so helpful. Location was perfect too, would highly recommend this to everyone!!!

Nothing to not like

On First arrival and walking into the property it was absolutely spotless everything about it was perfect. The heating was on and left on so there was no chance of feeling a chill through the night. There were a few snacks out for our arrival plus milk and water in the fridge which was great. Collete the host was fantastic. We asked for bus times but she said don’t worry I will take you into the centre in my car which was fantastic en route she gave me tips on how to get back to the property in a taxi without it costing a fortune.on the evening We use the hot tub which was lovely and hot and very relaxing all in all it was only one night but that one night was absolutely perfect due to the property and the host.

Was so welcoming. Owner left snacks,milk and water. It was lovely and clean warm and smelt amazing.

This property is a lovely private floor of a town house near York city centre. The facilities were great, a comfy bed, lovely shower and relaxing hot tub. The owner kindly made us feel welcome, offering us a lift into the centre and leaving tea/biscuits etc to help us settle. Knowing Colette was available for any queries was very reassuring during our stay, and we know to return for definite!

Location - only a short drive into York city centre, and if you don't drive the owner is willing to give you a lift in. Free parking an asset. Garden nicely laid out and decorated, with pretty lighting.

The owner told us she lived 'upstairs' but we were shocked to find that this was meant literally. This is only self-contained in the sense that you have exclusive use of the rooms on the ground floor of a 3 storey modern mews house​.​ These rooms are separated from the rest of the property ​only by a wooden screen ​placed in the hallway at the bottom of the stairs.​ There is no structural separation between the owner's accommodation and the holiday rental area. We were not disturbed by any noise, but found it somewhat unsettling that we didn't have the complete privacy implied by the description as a 'self-contained flat'. ​There was a v​ery strong smell of damp on entering through the back door, which the battery powered automatic air fresheners placed in each room could not mask. Said air fresheners operate every few minutes, loudly spewing ​an overpowering burst of Glade into the room. After seeing that another reviewer had managed to turn them off, we worked out how to open them and do the same when indoors. The bedroom has a Yale-type lock so you must remember to take the key with you every time you leave in case you forget to wedge the door open, otherwise it will self-close and lock you out​ of that room. Luckily, the owner was at home when it happened to us, so was able to lend us her spare key. There were other, more minor issues but my main gripe is that I feel the owner should make it clear this is not a self-contained flat in the normally understood meaning of that term.

Perfect for our needs whilst working in the york area.

For anyone looking for an exceptional place to stay, this is that place! It is absolutely faultless. We walked into the garden and both went ‘oh wow!’ It is stunning! Even more so at night when all the lights are on. There’s plenty of outdoor seats to relax and enjoy your evening. The hot tub is brilliant and so lovely to sit in, with all the twinkly lights. It is so calm and relaxing! Inside the property, it does not disappoint at all! The kitchen is well equipped, should you wish to cook. There are so many thoughtful extras, tea and coffee, snacks and even milk so you can get the kettle on as soon as you arrive! The bathroom has a large walk in shower, the water is lovely and hot with a great amount of water pressure. The lounge has a lovely quirky sofa, beautifully decorated and tasteful furnishings. Plus a view of the garden! The lounge and bedroom both have a tv with Netflix and prime. The bedroom is very spacious, has the most beautiful 4 poster bed, fluffy rugs and pillows for that added luxury feel! Like the lounge, it is beautifully decorated with tasteful furnishings. The bed is so so comfy! There’s also a hair dryer, curling tongs, plenty of huge fluffy towels, an Alexa……the list is endless. On top of all of that is Collette. She is an amazing host, nothing is too much trouble. She ensures you’re happy, offers to give lifts, but also leaves you alone if you don’t want any help with anything. I would go as far to say she is the perfect host. You get some that you don’t hear from at all, and some that are too nice and in your face. Collette has the balance right, working out what suits each visitor the best.

From start to finish our visit was amazing. The property was immaculate with its own parking space and on arrival the host Colette had left us snacks and drinks which is a lovely thought on her part. The secluded outside area with private hot tub was the most relaxing area and even more special in the evening when the fairy lights come on. On our 2nd day Colette was kind enough to run us in to York centre so we could enjoy our visit without the worry of having to park up , she guided us on the best place to get transport back to the property . Both nights we had the best sleep in the most comfortable four poster bed. The property is equipped with everything you would need if you wanted to cook your own meals etc. and there is TVs in the living area and bedroom that have Netflix readily available. There is nothing too much for Colette who will accommodate any requests and always ensures everything is ok during your visit. We will definitely return , very soon hopefully. Christmas time looks to be a good time to visit even for a couple of nights . Thank you so much Colette you have a beautiful property and are so welcoming ☺️
