Little Gem in the Forest of Dean! Hot tub, Private garden, Dog Friendly, Smart TVs and Beautiful Historic Village Location!

Comfortable and everything we needed. Host left a great welcome basket and all essentials provided.

Little awkward for 2nd bedroom with walk through main bedroom to lounge and shower room, but this was minor.

Lovely apartment in a very special location right by a castle. Beautifully furnished and the best equipped kitchen I think we have ever experienced. Generous amount of breakfast available and good quality. Particularly liked the Welsh butter. Large TVs and a good sofa, easy parking outside and the bonus of a hot tub as well

I loved the location, the building, spaciousness, the decor and facilities.It had great character. The owners were lovely and checked in by messaging to see if we needed anything.

Previous ratings for cleanliness were very good so perhaps it was a one off but the dishwasher and oven were not cleaned and paw marks in one location from previous guests dog. But the linens were all clean.

The village is beautiful and the George Inn had an amazing selection of seafood on the specials board. We chose a ground floor apartment as I have mobility issues, however, what wasn't mentioned was the steep steps up to the property and the steps into and inside the property. EDIT UPDATE Jade was very quick to respond and assure me that these issues are being dealt with and that there had recently been a change of housekeeping staff to make sure these minor issues do not recur.

Crockery, glasses and cutlery had been returned previously to the cupboard dirty. I think possibly because the dish washer wasn't working and nobody had checked. It needed rinse aid and salt. The bread was dated 17th and we arrived on the 18th. We also found half a packet of frozen potato smiles in the freezer. There was no outside light and a trip hazard just inside the gate which made returning after dark challenging. The cloak room light needed several attempts each time to turn on. The shower plug hole was full of long grey hair which meant the tray didn't drain quickly. The hot tub was tepid and we didn't seem able to adjust the temperature from 37C. The seats and floor in the hot tub felt as though they had a coating of limescale which we could scrape off. The bedside table nearly collapsed under the weight of a cup of tea the first morning because all the allen screws were loose. The 'lawn' was a bed of dandelions and most of the flowers /shrubs were dead. All in all for £130 a night it didn't match the reviews or expectations.

A truly lovely property with everything we needed and more – it felt like a real home away from home. The nearby pub and village shop were an absolute delight, offering fantastic local food and produce, and we were pleasantly surprised to find a great selection of gluten-free items too! We also enjoyed the peaceful local walks and found plenty of things to do in the surrounding area, making it a perfect spot for a relaxing and memorable stay. The hosts were so helpful and responded quickly to messages. Nice gift basket on arrival!

The kitchen tap leaked a lot which was a bit annoying but it still worked.

A good location. The welcome basket was a lovely surprise. The accommodation was clean and well presented.

Middle bedroom could hear a loud family / walls are too thin so can hear conversations Woke me up as early risers so not the relaxing stay fully wanted . Hot tub doesn’t have a relaxing surround so could do with some thinking on that.
