Rock Mill - Deluxe Studio Apartment with Terrace

Comfy bed, great location

Was very noisy as we were next to the lift. There was a poo bag (full) let on our table outside which put us off sitting there.

A nice self contained getaway. Doors are heavy/stick a bit which did mean there was some slamming of doors which could be heard throughout the day, and you can hear the lift being called/moving from within the room, although I didn't find it disruptive. Bed was very comfortable. Oven took a bit of googling to get working as the instructions provided where for a different oven, but it was nice to have. Place does have an apartment block feel. Pictures are exactly what the room looks like. Like others have mentioned the 'private terrace' isn't private but is shared with the other ground floor appartments. Netflix and Disney plus passwords where provided however unfortunately Netflix's household limits meant it wasn't working, and Disney plus had the same issue on the last day I was there which was a shame, but it wasn't something I was expecting to have anyway. Found that other reviews I'd read before going were all pretty fair and accurate. Overall a nice getaway.

Due to husband’s mobility and it being one room he was easily able to get around the room. Having a private terrace we were able to go out the back and walk/use mobility scooter to get outside.

The kitchen was compact however due to my height 5 feet tall, I struggled to reach the crockery etc. Perhaps a foldable stool could be provided.

It was clean and access was easy

Clean, modern apartment with comfortable bed and a good shower! Key safe for entry, with a code released on the day. Direct outdoor access, which was perfect for our dogs first thing in the morning and last thing at night. The terrace isn’t exactly private as it is open space that can be accessed from all ground floor apartments however that didn’t bother us at all. Indoor dog washing facilities were a brilliant addition. Ate at the Curry Cottage Indian Restaurant down the road which was fantastic and had breakfast at the Cupola next door - great service. But the apartment had plenty of pots/pans, crockery and cutlery for self-catering if we’d have wanted to.

Not really a ‘dislike’ - more to put people’s minds at ease…Quite a large deposit taken prior to releasing the keys to the property. It said in T&Cs that it could take up to 10 days to release. This made me a little wary at first and I did an initial check of the apartment on check-in for any prior ‘wear and tear’ as a precaution. However, my deposit was quickly released within 48 hours after check out and upon arrival to the property, it was clear that all furniture and decor was high quality. So an understandable precaution on host’s part.

Couldn’t get a good range of TV channels

The ground floor apartment is ideal if like us you have a dog, within walking distance of Stoney Middleton and a short drive to Bakewell and Chatsworth House

The check in process was hard work!! Online check in that didn’t work a last minute deposit taken of £150 then a charge for the dog which had been paid months in advance was asked for again. After several phone calls I finally got the keypad code. Just a few hours prior to check in.

Clean and comfortable apartment. Good quality bed and linen.

A bit smaller than expected for an apartment. Room was not ready on arrival. Not enough towels provided.
