Great place! Loved the location! Paula was very friendly and welcoming. The room was clean , had everything we needed and the beds were comfortable . The breakfast was lovely too . We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely return 😊

There was nothing I didn't like!

Barton Gate was just outside Holsworthy, which for us worked well. The lady who greeted us was quick, friendly and welcoming. There was plenty of parking and the farm was well signposted off the road. We just chose the continental breakfast which was lovely, with plenty of choice.

It was perfect for our stay.

The location

Where to start. Its not really pet friendly. For £10 per night per dog you get to use an overgrown and unkempt field. Plus lots of do not allow your dog on the shabby furniture or use the shower. You can rinse them with freezing water from a hosepipe in the yard. Very Dog friendly. Floor tiles in our tiny room had lifted away from the floor. No wardrobe nor bed side tables or lights. Wafer thin walls. Very expensive internet for any sort of download speed, and even that was insufficient to view a movie on my tablet. (At these crazy prices should be included). Only very basic breakfast, we brought our own as unwilling to pay the owner even more on top of the sky high fees already charged for the standard of the accommodation, again the full english should be included so there is at least a small attempt at providing value. The whole place has a rather run down and neglected feel. On the first night there was a heavy downpour. The guttering outside our room was broken so we had a continuous torrent of water against our small window which kept us awake. The view was onto an overgrown lawn where many tears previously was an animal shelter. (PLEASE NOTE DESPITE THE WEBSITE AND ON BOOKING DESCRIPTION THERE ARE NO ANIMALS). So parents be advised. On the day of departure the weather was foul and our dogs took a little more time to oblige than normal. Which resulted in the rather rude owner making a scene with my wife. At 11:20 she was waiting at the main entrance as my wife returned with our dogs. My wife explained the dogs were a bit slow this morning, but we were packed and ready to put our bags in the car. Literally less than a minute after she was banging on our door haraunging my wife , which slowed us from loading the car. Very rude, unpleasant and uncalled for. At no point over the stay did the owner attempt to see if things were ok and we were happy. Just wants to take as much money as possible for very little service and the tiredness of the place

Lovely clean and spacious room. Very comfortable beds and I loved the decor of the room. Fresh towels and room cleaned each day. Very nice continental breakfast and plentiful. My husband and son had a full english on our last day, they said it was delicious. Spot on location for us, we spent time in Bude, Boscastle, Tintagel, Port Isaac and Clovelly all of which we would recommend to visit. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The owner is lovely and chatty and works extremely hard.
