The hotel is located in a wonderful spot, facing a clean and beautiful beachfront. The location is definitely one of its strongest points. The swimming pool also looked new and well maintained, even though we didn’t get a chance to use it. Although the food menu was quite limited, the dishes we had were delicious and well presented.

My previous stay was in October 2021, and compared to then, the overall condition of the hotel appears to have declined. The bathrooms had an unpleasant odor. The hot water shower unit was loose and kept rotating, making it difficult to use properly. There was also no proper lighting in the balcony area as well as the shower area. The biggest disappointment was the experience at reception. The middle-aged lady at the front desk (who appeared to be leading the front office) gave the impression that the hotel was offering services free of charge rather than as a paid stay. Her attitude and poor handling during check-in created a very negative first impression. I was particularly surprised to experience this level of management at a hotel operated by the Sri Lankan Army, as one would normally expect much higher standards of discipline and service.

Die Lage am Meer war sehr schön, obwohl das Baden nicht möglich war. Dafür genossen wir den schönen Pool. Das Highlight war der tägliche Besuch des Elefanten, welcher friedlich durch die Hotelanlage spazierte.

Die Zimmer sind stilvoll gebaut, jedoch sehr renovierungbedürtig. Leider war es bei unserer Ankunft auch nicht wirklich sauber.
