"Gorgeous, comfortable bedrooms. Good location, but needed much better cleaning in the communal areas."

7.0

The bedrooms were beautiful, clean and incredibly comfortable. The location was great, close to lovely walks by the canal and walking distance to the city. Off road parking was extremely convenient. The house was warm. The bathroom was clean overall.

The floors in the lounge and hall were grubby. (I accidentally moved the rug in the hall and there was a lot of dust and dirt underneath). The rug in the lounge felt and smelled grubby. There were some grubby marks on the sofa cushions. We also had issues with the freezer as it leaked, we realised that one of the drawers was stuck and full of ice and we’d disturbed it when we opened it. It desperately needed defrosting. There was no cleaning liquid. We had to buy some flash and I mopped the floors in the kitchen and lounge. We needed to use the oven, but found the sealing rubber was hanging down; we also had to clean it first as the door looked pretty grim. Such a shame really as we loved the bedrooms and had a comfortable stay, but didn’t feel as comfortable on the lounge and kitchen area.

Easy to walk into town. Space in the house.

If 7 people there, one bathroom would have been a problem.

We liked everything about it. It felt really cosy and welcoming. It also had everything we needed.

The only thing about the we can comment on, is that the bedroom doors were squeaky. But that is clutching at straws

"Nice property but needs to be cleaner"

6.0

The property was in a good location. The beds were really comfortable. Everything we needed was provided.

When we first arrived we tried ringing them numerous times to get the code to get into the property. It no one answered the phone. It took us an hour to get in. When we eventually got in, my son found a nut on the rug and we had to go to hospital because he is allergic to them. Parking was difficult and the doors were hard fire doors which wasn’t good for children as they were heavy and didn’t stay open.

"The furniture was good and location was great."

Windows - very windy due to them not shutting properly. Water on windowsills. Kitchen cupboards didn’t shut. The oven was very dirty.

Lovely cottage with good sized bedrooms and bathroom. Close to city centre and useful on-property parking. Quiet street. Kitchen well equipped with considerate little extras. Clear instructions to access the property and easy communication with queries if needed Will definitely stay again. Great value for money.

The lounge is well set out but a little snug for more than x5 adults. Table only seats x4 but didn't take away from a great stay with family and would stay again.

"Comfortable home but needs some attention"

7.0

Well located, 15 mins walk to the beautiful centre of Chester and the city walls. Spacious inside. Comfortable accommodation for two adults and three teens. Beds were particularly comfy with mattress toppers. Lots of light and inspite of on-street parking being difficult, there is allocated space for parking immediately behind the property. It is tight however! We managed to get two cars in, bumper to bumper, though negotiating our way back out onto the narrow street with cars parked on both sides was a bit tricky! Overall we did enjoy our stay!

The house was freezing on arrival and took a good 12hrs to warm up. We would have expected the heating to have been put on in advance of our arrival, especially as it's Winter and we were travelling with children. On our arrival, after a long journey we wanted a home cooked meal. Self catering property - especially with a family...makes sense to save some ££. The Property has a great kitchen but the cooker dials etc were really greasy and dirty and obviously couldn't have been wiped down properly in a very long time. All the pans and pots, apart from two, are badly scuffed and scraped - teflon coating damaged - which are the pots you'd throw out at home because of wear and tear. That didn't feel too good, though the oven wear/pans looked new. The freezer seemed to be leaking a bit of water - may have been that the appliance had been turned off for a while before we arrived - not sure about that one. There were some areas of the property that just seemed like they needed a bit of a clean - some TLC .
