Ein tolles Hotel 15 Minuten vom Dorf entfernt, garantiert absolute Ruhe. Vor allem an Samstagen, wenn im Dorf jede Woche von 16:00 Uhr bis 3:00 Uhr morgens extrem laut Party gefeiert wird. Danke an Risky und sein Team für die tolle Unterstützung beim Transport. Morgens übernehmen hier die Affen das Regiment🤗

EVERYTHING! This place is an oasis in the jungle just a short walk along the river from Bukit Lawang. If you can, definitely stay here! The staff are so kind and SO chilled, nothing is too much trouble and they are always smiling. The food was some of the best we tried in Sumatra - made fresh. The room was clean and comfortable, with beautiful balcony views over the river. If we could have stayed longer we would. Amazing after a jungle trek - hot shower, comfy bed, great food and away from the town. Don't hesitate! Thank you again!

Niestety miałem pecha i obok mnie zamieszkała patologiczna rodzina, ściany są bardzo cienkie bo zbudowane z bambusa, słyszałem każdy głos, a rodzinka nie przejmowała się nikim i niczym, mama tylko piła alkohol, zamieszkali w oddzielnym pokoju z dala od dzieci, pewnie żeby mieć spokój, ale inni go już nie mieli. Po godzinie 16.oo już tylko zestaw kolacyjny około 200.000 za parę, uważam że trochę droga opcja.

Sie war sehr individuell gestaltet und mitten im Dschungel gelegen. Alles sehr authentisch und herzlich.

I can’t quite find the words to truly describe the experience of staying at Kupu Kupu- it’s a real gem of Bukit Lawang. Reaching the accommodation requires about a 10-minute walk, which is part of its unique charm, as it’s beautifully hidden away in the jungle. The only sounds you hear are the river and birds, making it incredibly peaceful. The team is absolutely amazing. A special shoutout to Arif for the warm hospitality, as well as the rest of the staff- they made our stay extremely comfortable and truly unforgettable. A big thank you as well for arranging Wanda as our jungle trekking guide. He is incredibly knowledgeable about Bukit Lawang’s history and the wildlife, far beyond just orangutans. It was a pleasure having him as our guide. I would 1000% recommend booking a jungle trek through Kupu Kupu’s staff- they are reliable, professional, and offer a truly high-quality experience. We can’t wait to visit again!!😊😊

Besonders hervorzuheben ist das Personal. Das gesamte Team ist sehr herzlich und zuvorkommend, wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Die lokalen Gerichte waren alle extrem lecker! Die Besonderheit der Unterkunft ist, dass sie etwas abseits vom Dorf den Fluss hoch liegt (ca. 15-20 Minuten Fußweg), was noch einmal sehr schöne Atmosphäre schafft!

The most beautiful little hideaway on the river, (15min walk outside town) right on the edge of the jungle. I’ve stayed here twice now. Great breakfasts, and main meal served at night. Watch the wildlife from your room: lizards, dragonflies, swallows, butterflies (“Kupu-kupu “), macaques (pig tailed and long tailed), Thomas Leaf monkeys… all sorts. Monkeys even on our balcony one morning…. And the local staff are about as wonderful a bunch of people as you will ever meet… including the very best guides for visiting the Orang-utan in the National park that this place already sits within. This is THE place to stay in Bukit Lawang.

Nothing. It’s not so easy to access as some places are but for us that was a bonus as it doesn’t feel too ‘touristy’.

We traveled through Asia for a month, but this accommodation truly touched our hearts. The staff was so warm and welcoming that we immediately felt at home and safe. They took care of everything and gave us the feeling that we were in very good hands. Very quickly, it felt like being part of a family. The food was fantastic, and our room was incredibly beautiful, comfortable, and designed with so much love and attention to detail. We also had a wonderful view of the river and the jungle. Everything about our stay was simply perfect.

The location in the middle of nature, surrounded and tranquility and monkeys. Pure jungle. Great treks to see orangutans. And yet, the best of it all, is the people working there: beautiful people!
