Sage House - City centre Hanley, Alton towers

Very spacious. Good location.

The property is spacious and well located to visit the potteries. There was enough parking on the road around the property. The welcome basket was a thoughtful touch.

The property feels a little unloved and it was really annoying that there was a lack of basic things. We had only enough towels for 3, there were 4 of us, and they were sandpaper rough. There were no tea spoons at all and an inadequate mismatch of crockery - only 3 mugs, 1 wine glass, 4 plates etc. The boiler is also very noisy at regular intervals including through out the night.

House is clean and accessible.

The stairs was dark because the light wasn’t working well. The light on one of the room was flickering. The other room has no bulb on the light. I contacted the owner but has not helped at all because he said it’s too late. We have to call an electrician relative that lives near and provided the bulb and sorted the light for us to use the room.

Plenty of space, decent value for money and close enough to Alton towers for us

There is an issue with the electrics, we couldn’t get the one bedroom light to turn on at all for the 3 days we stayed, flicked on and off once but that was it. Another one of the bedroom lights sometimes worked and sometimes didn’t. One landing light bulb also didn’t work. The stand the shower head sits on is also broke, had to hold the shower head the whole time whilst showering and between 5 of us that was a bit frustrating. Only a couple of plates there even though we booked for 5, there weren’t actually 5 plates to use. Same as with mugs, bowls etc. Not enough for the amount of guests. Definitely lacked bedside tables etc, every room felt very bare and not homely at all. Beds are small doubles also

Lovely spacious house with plenty of utensils and facilities in kitchen. Quiet location. When had any questions I got a response very quickly.

When we arrived couple of things in the kitchen weren’t working nevertheless the host made sure everything was working and was available every time we called him.

It was spacious.

It wasn’t clean when we got there. Hair in the shower. Blocked sink. Actual stale toast in the toast machine. Dried spilled milk in the fridge. Hair and used tissues on the floor. The rooms were bare and less than basic. Bed. Door. Curtain. Cupboard. That’s it. Not even a simple bedside table and a reading light. Curtains were very thin, so the room had a lot of light coming in. The bathroom was moldy and the shower didn’t stay in its place. One key for a three bedroom place so we constantly had to check in who was in or out. There is an outside space but the rooms are lovked. No keys in sight. There’s a washing machine but the dryer is broken and no racks to hang washed wet laundry. When we communicated all this to the owner, he replied days later with two lines, basically telling us to get on with it. Some people care about their property and their guests. Some don’t. This one definitely doesn’t. We wouldn’t stay here again.

I love it everthing in this big house. With everything you need for a good week of vacation. Beautiful garden. Big sofas ❤️

Location was the main reason 2 mins walk away from sons digs at uni

No fault off the property but surrounding area is a let down
