Settle in Southampton - Stylish Self Check-In Rooms & Suites

I’ve stayed at Settle 3 times, each time the accommodation got better. I started in a standard room and my last stay was in a room with a kitchenette. This was my favourite. Parking is a pain if you have a big car / SUV. On my first stay I had to reverse back out of the very tight lane scratching my car in the process but I booked a “Park at my house” space on subsequent trips so I had a back up if I couldn’t get one of the front spaces. You *might* get away with parking at the place next door. The area feels OK, a coop is just down the road next to a quality sex shop and there are plenty of pikey smack heads about. Seem harmless enough though ina world of their own and provided some entertainment from my window. Luxury is stretching a bit it for the standard bedrooms and I can understand why some people are disappointed, but it’s alright for the price. Staff are pretty quick to respond to any queries. I’d stay again.

I wish that I had read the parking instructions fully. My fault. But my large car got stuck in the alleyway at the side of the property and then in the car park.

Convenient, clean and comfortable A good fan so despite the heat it was cool enough to sleep. The fridge was handy. Lots of coffee and tea supplies were available.

The location was good. It was clean and tidy. Only thing was there was no where to hang up clothes. This would have been nice when staying for 12 days.

The room I was in was immediately at the top of stairs with no landing, it was awkward getting a heavy suitcase in and out of here. Parking was not always easy. I had to park away from the property on a few occasions

I was disappointed that the accommodation for the Deluxe Double Studio grossly misrepresented what was being offered. Had the accommodation been advertised more accurately, I would not have chosen it. I specifically chose self-catering accommodation because we prepare our meals for medical reasons. It advertised itself as “self-catering” when, in reality, there was no fully functional self-catering option available. The room lacked a hob/stovetop, providing only a microwave, kettle, and air fryer. The facilities did not allow us to prepare even a simple meal such as eggs. As a result, for the simple breakfasts and dinners we had planned, we ended up having to order takeaway meals from Nando’s instead. Furthermore, despite the listing promising a “dining area” and “desk,” there was no table or desk at all. With only one chair provided, one of us had to eat standing up while the other balanced plates and cups on their lap. There was also nowhere suitable to hang clothes — no wardrobe or hanging rail was provided. I was not looking for the cheapest option. I specifically wanted the convenience of proper self-catering facilities and a more comfortable, spacious stay after arriving late into Southampton Harbour following my wife’s birthday celebration.
