Jacobite's Retreat, 17th century cottage in the heart of Inverness

This is a historic property right on the very edge of the center of Inverness next door to the famous book shop. The rooms were lovely with ensuite facilities. The house has been recently refurbished with a nice combination of old world charm and modern convenience. The location is perfect with an easy walk to everything Inverness City has to offer. We were given a nice goody box which was both lovely and well appreciated.

We had to park at a nearby public carpark but this was a minor inconvenience given the location.

They had a complimentary basket of fresh bread, coffee, chocolate milk, sweets, orange juice and milk. They also provided paid brunch items like eggs, bacon, meat pudding, sausages, tomatoes, pancakes, salmon, cherry croissants, fresh berry granola yogurt and squeezed apple sauce. It was incredibly delicious! Location is perfect! Close to everything and the bus stop if you booked a tour. Our host Kim was extremely accommodating and gave us some great tips of what to see and do. Out of all the places we stayed in Scotland, hands down this was our fav! The house has a historic charm to it. We wished we booked another day to explore. We’ll definitely be back!

We had a car and it was a pain to get it in and out of the car port because of construction.

Amazing place - great location, super clean & cozy, all new, fluffy duvets & towels, excellent organic products for breakfast, perfect communication. Would definitively stay here next time.
