The cottage is beautifuly located, easy reach to Keswick, pooley bridge and ullawater all within 30 minutes drive

Inside the cottage wasn't very clean, no bin bags and dishwasher tablets ( as requested by the owner to use)

"All the family were very happy and talked about us all returning in the future"

10.0

Perfect for our whole family stay we were thrilled to see we had a lovely courtyard garden and all cottages sat together, great garden for all the children and the cottages were very nice and well equipt. Loved Highcroft entrance for our wedding photos before leaving for Gretna.

Previous occupants did pick up after their dog. Loose and very dangerous slab at the top of the steps to Highcroft we had to try and make it as safe as we could.

"Lovely cottages for group getaway"

7.0

2 brilliant cottages side by side, just right for our group stay. Garden was great, the kids spent hours playing outside. Very quiet location and beautiful local park and pub within a couple of minutes walk

One bed was quite uncomfortable but Jonathan was very quick to reply and ensure he will investigate it for future guests

"An enjoyable, comfortable, peaceful stay in lovely well laid out historic property, which we would book again."

8.0

Spacious, stylish older property, set in charming village, well laid out with two separate double bedrooms each with bathrooms, perfect for two couples. It had all the facilities we needed for a long weekend including well equipped kitchen. Wi Fi worked well and the coffee machine with supplies was a bonus. The location was great for visiting the Eastern Lakes with fast straight' ish roads to Penrith and Keswick etc. The beds and bedding were very comfortable and we slept well.

Just minor aspects: Car park was full up on two weekend nights including on grass bank but we were back latish and it was a busy summer period. The key safe stuck and needed a few attempts and resets to open, best from fiddling underneath. We could have done with microwave instructions and maps for local walks and attractions, historic sites, local restaurants etc.

"Could be exceptional with a few additions."

6.0

Price and location

The coffee machine didn't work, needs the cleaning pods and they weren't present. There wasn't enough bedding supplied for the number of people it could sleep. We had to buy extra. We had to buy a veg knife as we couldn't use a bread knife to chop veggies. One day was spoiled by being blocked in by work vans. The emergency number was a business in Blackpool, which never answered, and wasn't helpful in an emergency. Took 5 calls and a message to get a shower repaired.

"Lovely little cottage. Will be back next year"

9.0

The house was cosy and warm inviting. Plenty of hot water for a much welcome bath after walking in the countryside and getting caught in the rain.. close to village and local pub, only 15 minutes from penrith in car 20 min from kirby Stephen and 30 min from appleby if you go via roman road... 😀 perfect stay for us. Beds was comfortable. We will be delighted to book again for next June perhaps later this summer to meet friends 🧡

On first entering the house it had a stuffy smell like cooking. But it cleared once windows was opened . Outside the front door it smelled of tom cat.. my hubby said ..it reminded him of his grandads garden.. 🙂 we wasn't bothered but some folk might not like it .. The welcome basket was a bit dismal , good job I brought milk n tea bags n sweetener, in fact I left some sweetener behind. No milk tubs or normal tea only decaf. Lemon tea/herbal would be nice alertnstive too. No bin bags for the kitchen bin so once emptied was I like to do on a evening so rubbish isn't sat overnight there was no bags? If you was staying longer than a weekend you'd have yo buy some yourself. Table wear- needs update all glaze has gone the need throwing out.. full of scratch n heat marked.. unhygienic. No scissors.. don't know why any place you stay they never have scissors.. I think they must get pinched... As the bed rooms was quiet large in one room I suggest you could easily get a single bed or truckle bed in one room as well as a double.. just a thought Apart from that it was perfect.

"Great stay near Penrith"

7.0

Lovely little cottage type accommodation in a converted barn in a super little village location. Great to have parking available too. Recommend for exploring the area

Mix up with housekeeping did mean we didn't immediately have enough crockery for the number of visitors but hosts responsive and let us borrow from one of the other holiday cottages they have on site whilst they sorted it out.
