Location was excellent to get to the Utilita Well appointed apartment

Television didn’t have BBC/ITV No plug in kitchen sink Shower head didn’t stay up

Convenient for Utilita Arena.

Confusing layout of the building (not anyone’s fault) . Having to go to another location to get keys.

This property was booked to stay 06.09.25 for 3 nights to attend a concert. On arrival it became evident the property was uninhabitable due to hygiene and safety concerns, the main two concerns being a carrier bag covering the bare light fitting on the ceiling and a stain on the bedsheet in the middle of the bed. Alternative accommodation was sourced immediately. I am still awaiting a refund from booking.com for this booking however booking.com will not refund until they have received clarification from the host hence the review taking me 2 months to upload as I was giving booking.com the chance to rectify this issue. I have received a goodwill gesture of a booking.com voucher for the amount of £28.69 for my frustration however this remains unused as it's insulting when I paid £229.50 for a property I was unable to stay in and I'm reluctant to rebook with booking.com due to extremely poor customer service and support. Photo evidence has also been submitted to booking.com to evidence concerns.

My partner and I were booked a 2-night stay. We went to the reception, and we were told that the host is breaching tenancy agreement via sub renting. It made us feel so bad and that we were not welcomed. We were also told she is under investigation. When we reached, we called the host where to get the keys from. She sounded very angry and said she is driving and everything is in the link. Sadly, the link at that point did not open. Well, she did send the link again. It stated we have to go to this shop and give a pin number and the person will give us the key. We are visitors and we are not familiar with the location. We called her again and she said it is just across the road. We checked on google maps it was 6 mins (due to traffic) drive or 8 mins walk - we had to walk to a set of lights cross and then try to find the shop. It was raining and we struggled to navigate. Anyways we finally found the shop - looked so dodgy and dirty and weird- the guy asked us for a pin and have us the keys. It was like doing a "deal " When we went back - finding the room again was a challenge. We went back to reception, and we were guided which lift to take and again we were remined it is a breach of tenancy agreement - and we should not be staying there. Anyways we find the room and the door would not open - 2 tenants came out to assist and we eve they mentioned that there is an investigation with the host bringing in paid guests. Anyways we rung her again and she said to push the door. We did and it sprung open. On the door there is a key section and a pin code tab. Again, we had no idea. We were worried that any time the building Manager will come in and ask us to leave. We were not comfortable. When we left.... we decided to leave the keys at reception. The host wanted us to close the door and leave the keys inside. We did not want to leave the door open in case anyone went in. The host was not happy .

Accessing keys Communication with host - she called us rude when we asked questions. She sends a message that "did we expect her to hold our hands while we check in. The smell from the cleaning cupboard from the wet mop was bad When you shower, floor gets wet - health and safety Strong smell of laundry product from linen We will be emailing Booking .com to look into this matter and will share her messages she sent to us. Half used toiletry products
