Host & Stay - Normanby Terrace Apartments

The location, the parking permit, and the size of the apartment. Excellent customer service provided.

We stayed in The Normandy-previously we have stayed in the one on the ground floor, huge difference between the two, hence the cheaper price. The Normandy needs a deep clean, and some TLC-rubber around the oven was coming off. No battery in the clock, kitchen light was hung down from the unit and didn’t work.A stain on the mattress protector. Things that can be easily rectified. Didn’t like having to pay an extra £19 for insurance for breakages-especially when the apartment itself had a number of things that hadn’t been fixed previously I assume.

Clean, well decorated and very comfortable. Kitchen fully functional. Bed had an excellent mattress and we slept well. Also a very good tv and WiFi. We have been visiting Whitby for over 30 years and this is up with the best. Will defo use again.

One very tiny thing was that the car parking scratch card was only for 2 days and our stay was for 3. But we know where to park for free in Whitby so it was not a problem for us.

It was modern with most appliances for a comfortable stay. The location was excellent and the property provided parking passes for the duration of our stay.

We luckily got a parking space but parking was difficult. There was only one sapre toilet roll for 2 of us for 4 nights/3days. Also there were 2 teabags ,2 sachets of coffee and 2 sugars in jars for sugar teas and coffee. This looked mean. I suggest if you only want to provide a drink on arrival you do it in a welcome pack. I also thought it was mean not to provide salt and peeper at least. The flat felt very corporate and bland with only one picture on the wall in the bathroom.

Everything,all you would want in the apartment is nice & comfortable..

Had some really noisy neighbours in the apartment building next door on Thursday night/early hours of Friday morning,no fault of yours but it may be a problem to others.

Close to bars, shops and restaurants and the beach were all in close proximity. The property provided all the necessary things needed for a holiday stay and had been well thought out. The apartment was spotlessly clean and the bed was really comfortable.

The property was a little draughty although the window in the bedroom was problematic as it had a broken latch and did not lock closed, on windy nights it was very noisy it would wake us up as the wind would blow through the window. The shower, whilst very powerful, would have to be hand held as otherwise it would soak the bathroom floor as it isn’t adjustable with regard to where the shower head is pointing.

Very close to all amenities, walking distance to everything.

There was debris on the coffee table, not an issue, but it was obvious that part of the coffee table was not wiped down properly. The temperature of the shower could be hotter, but it did the job for our stay. There were no scourers in the apartment, so we couldn't clean the mugs, plates, and cutlery properly. Parking was the main issue, we couldn't find a space anywhere, so we ended up parking in Silver Street car park for the full duration of our stay, lucky that the car park was 1 minute walk away from the apartment.

Location was good. Facilities adequate. Light spacious living/kitchen area but basic.

I got bombarded with emails prior to visiting. Focus on charges for damages etc and late check out etc... Had to ring for check in details on arrival day. On arrival there was a very unpleasant smell in the flat. I rang and left message for call back and got no response. I also completed first impression check in email. Again got no response! And still haven't. Nobody bothered to even acknowledge the issue. Dog blankets in flat were smelly. Poor cleaning in kitchen area on pots, coffee machine and kettle. Basic flat nothing outstanding for money paid.
