Host & Stay - Normanby Terrace Apartments

Light and airy. Modern feel. Good location for the high street and town.

Was boiling when we arrived. Hot Sunny day but heating on 25. Turned down thermostat. However we woke at about 0600 sweltering as the radiator in the bedroom was too hot to touch. Same on second day when I turned off the boiler to avoid a repeat after burning myself against the radiator. Overall clean. Water and dark bits in loo brush holder. Shower difficult to adjust to avoid soaking the floor. Toilet roll holder top heavy causing 1st roll to fall into the loo pan. Had a spare thanks.

Waiting for details of key lock box. We were told it would be sent by 10am but at 1.30pm nothing had arrived so we had to stop and send a message. Would rather have the details before setting off on our 6 hour journey. They then attached a lot of useful information - it would have been so nice to read it before we arrived and perhaps book restaurants for dinner.

Location was great, the apartment was faultless and super clean. Would definitely stay there again.

Nothing really

ARRIVED IN TOWN EARLY. TOLD IT WAS 30 QUID TO GET THE ROOM EARLY, EVEN BEFORE 4PM. 4PM IS A LATE CHECK IN, ITS NOT THE RITZ. IT Wasn't CLEANED VERY WELL. CARPETS DIRTY, MAINTENANCE POOR, WINDOW IN BEDROOM UNABLE TO OPEN CLOSE, BOILER PRESSURE LOW, CRUMBS ON BEDROOM FLOOR, SO NOT VACUUMED. NEED A FURTHER GRABRAIL FOR BATH AS EXITING THE BATH COULD BE TRICKY. ROOM NOT CALLED ROOM 2 AS IN DESCRIPTION, NO HELP WHICH KEY SAFE IS THE CORRECT ONE, POT LUCK WITH THAT. BEING TOLD TO LEAVE BEFORE 10AM OR THERE ARE CHARGES, AND ASKED TO PAY 30 POUNDS FOR 2 HRS EARLY WILL LEAVE A PERMANENT REMINDER OF THIS APARTMENT. WE WILL NOT USE THEM AGAIN. SWERVE. I WILLL REVIEW IT INDEPENDENTLY AND INFORM FUTURE FOLK .

I liked that it was a whole apartment

the parking, no spaces available outside the property. I didn't realise it was dog friendly and had a pet smell

Location fine. But cleanliness an issue. Would describe it as superficially clean, as a few 'hidden' areas were dusty or worse. For example top of sash windows. They had what seemed to be black mould on

Beautiful apartment

Dog hair on sofa and living room carpet. I suffer from an allergy to dog hair and I struggled with this issue. We only stayed one night as I couldn't cope with another night. I have made a formal complaint to Host and Stay.

Check in ,parking

Heating in bedroom didn't work ,frying pan is of poor quality as of knifes and forks no Masher,but apart from that we managed to make a Xmas Dinner👍

Location great, central to the ameneties of Whitby.

Additional Payment for the cleaning, the blinds in the bedroom were thick with dust which affected my allergy. The TV stand the same and black mould on the kitchen window.
