Host & Stay - Normanby Terrace Apartments

Central position. Clean and comfortable.

We believe we were misled re the parking. Expected a permit scratchcard that would give us free parking in certain areas. According to the apartment guide it would be left for us. It wasn't, so we paid over £40 for parking.

Parking was a problem. As an elderly couple we booked this apartment on the understanding we would get a parking permit to take the worry from us. On arrival I had to phone the number provided and were told there was no such permit for this. Booking.com eventually text me apologising that it wrongly advertised that a permit would be available As it was parking was available a few minutes away but cost me another £25 on top of my break. Just be aware to confirm parking is available if needed. It put a damper on the first day

The apartment was beautiful and clean as well as being well presented. Super comfy bed , brilliant shower ( although did struggle a bit as it was over the bath) everything you needed was in the apartment even down to washing up liquid and dish cloths. Good job I thought to bring a tea towel as they were not provided. Small supply of tea sugar and milk was a nice touch. Would definitely stay again. Slight issue with parking permit but was sorted out immediately.

Only downside was the sneaky admin fee on your damage deposit 😕

Good walking distance from the shops, bars and restaurants. Comfortable bed. Tea, coffee & milk sachets provided.

The free scratch card parking card wasn't left and when queried it I was told to send a copy of my car parking receipt plus a copy of their advert stating and they would reimburse me, however, its now been 4 days since sending everything asked for and there's no sight or sound of it. I paid more as it included free parking. I won't use Host & Stay again. I also found it dirty, especially the bathroom which was thilthy with dirty, grimy tiles, grout, shower hose, taps etc. Plus there were bags of rubbish outside the bedroom window. Some was builders materials, sand etc. But there was also black bin liners with who knows what in them. I was so concerned that I didn't like opening the window in case smells or bugs got in.
