Clean, spacious and had everything we needed

No parking disc was left for us to use and we waited over 1 hr and made 3 phone calls but still no disc was presented. Poor start to hour stay which made me angry and flustered which could have been avoided.

Quiet. Fairly convenient for Whitby train etc. Washing machine!

No drier unfortunately. Very sparse shampoo/soap etc given we were there for 9 days and paid for this accommodation several months in advance. I think a ‘damage payment’ or whatever the euphemism is (£25) on top of the payment is a bit rich.

The apartment was spotless with enough tea / coffee and milk provided to have that all important first cuppa on arrival. Kitchen equipment was all provided along with tea towel, dish cloth, washing up liquid and sponges - excellent. Parking permits provided, quiet location close to main attractions.

The property management company Host and Stay provided a terrible service. 1. They added a £30 non refundable charge for insurance after we paid the booking.com final price. They refused to give us access to the property until we paid this money. 2. The property promised and included car park permits which were not provided so we had to pay additional on street parking when we arrived. 3. Host and Stay promised to refund the parking charges, but despite chasing them 4 times they still have not refunded our money

The location was very good, short walk to town. Quiet neighbourhood. Would go there again.

The parking is an issue. We had to drive several times around the neighbourhood to find a parking. And then it was 2 blocks away. Note to the owner: The freezer need to be defrosted. Massive ice build up.

Nicely presented property and comfortable

The property is in a great location for Whitby and the surrounding areas, and the apartment looks just as it does online. The kitchen was well stocked with utensils etc. and the blankets for any pets was a nice touch as well.

Difficult to find - Helpful info from a local is that streets in Whitby all have two names, which would have been good to know beforehand. Maps takes you round to the back of the property so it's not particularly clear - and not somewhere I would want to try and navigate for the first time at night.A better point to anchor the location would be the Masonic Lodge directly opposite in my opinion. Bed was comfy but there were a few marks on the sheets which made me question if they had been washed beforehand - otherwise everything else was spotless. I had quite a few issues getting the parking scratchcard sorted which was frustrating as it was one of the main reasons I booked this property. I flagged as soon as I arrived that the scratchcard wasn't in the flat and it took a couple of days to get sorted - so in the meantime I had to repeatedly come back and move the car (this would have been very difficult for anyone with a child) while the hosts stopped responding to my messages. Once it finally got dropped off it was fine, but put a dampener on the first couple of days - and the lack of communication was frustrating (as well as having to pay for parking while this got sorted)
