"Reminded me of staying in caravans as a kid in the 70's and 80's. Bought back a lot of happy memorie"

Very clean, dry and comfortable. Would bring more books the next time

Slightly smaller than I expected. Unable to access WiFi. My teenage daughter was with us and missed her phone! But it's a good experience for her.

"Gorgeous serene stay!"

10.0

It was quaint and cosy, with a lovely private outside area. It had even you could need. The beds were comfortable and there were some books and games for entertainment. There is a walk down to a gorgeous river, that is lovely for a swim! The hosts were lovely and helpful. Definitely recommend staying here <3

A new and different experience. Very relaxing & away from the hustle & bustle. Wonderful way to disconnect for a few days but also near places of interest and beauty in west cork.

Nothing to do with the retreat but phone reception was patchy on the way so Google maps wasn't working well. We found the place easy enough though with the detailed directions jess has sent following the booking

"Quirky and different great if the weather is good"

7.0

Lovely view from the decking area (the pod). The walk through the woods down to the river was cute and I enjoyed Peter’s sculptures). The river is beautiful and I did take an early morning dip. The pod was essential as the truck is so tiny. Shame the weather wasn’t better for us but the pod kept us dry. Plenty of equipment to cook etc. Sad we didn’t get a chance to use the fire pit. The Glengarriff Nature Reserve is a short drive and a must-see. Bantry market is worth a visit.

Nowhere walkable from the property to take the dog off-road. Maybe this could be mentioned in the info. No signposted public footpaths and dogs not welcome on the Beara Way or the Coomhola Loop. No pub in walking distance. Felt a bit grubby in the truck although the linen and towels were clean and extra towels were provided for swimming in the river. The compost toilet was a bit difficult to use as the seat is set back quite far. Maybe provide a block as a foot rest?

"Truly a retreat from the stresses of everyday life"

A unique property and so peaceful, well off the beaten track. The accommodation was “small but perfectly formed” and had everything we needed.

The truck has three beds (two doubles and a single) so lots of space. It also has both inside and outside seating which is covered (perfect for rainy days) The wood burner helps keep the truck cosy if it's cold at night. The kitchen is well equipped including a vialetti The shower has hot water There are little feline and canine guests that come visit which is great The hosts helped me out when I got a flat tyre on the car and directed me where to get a replacement when it was pouring with rain There is a stream that runs through the boundary of the property and a place next to it to set up a camp fire Well provided water given everyday!

If you are looking for peace and quiet and back to basics this is for you.

The October temp of around 10 C was easy to cope with, once the the stove was lit it heated up well.
