Drakes Mead Retreat - Shepherd's Hut

I stayed here for 2 nights in June 26, as I needed somewhere to stay whilst visiting the fossil festival in Lyme Regis, which was about 10 minutes away by car. Sarah and Martin have created a very special little place, with lots of little thoughtful touches. It was well equipped with all the essentials, ample plates, glasses and cutlery, which were all nice quality. The bed and pillows were so comfy and the bedlinen was also very good quality. The private outside space was a bonus, a perfect setting for dinner and a glass of wine when I got back after a busy day. The location is so peaceful and relaxing. Everything about it was perfect! I will definitely be back.

Diese ruhige Lage ist einfach einmalig schön nach einer langen Fahrt oder einem intensiven Tagestrip in die Umgebung. Die Ausstattung ist super und sehr geschmackvoll. Hier passt wirklich alles incl. der sehr netten Begrüßung vor Ort.

Great area with privacy, short walking distance to the town and good location to travel by car to local attractions.

A gorgeous hut, that was equipped with everything you needed, from toiletries, to matches and kindling , games:cards, kitchen equipment. The bed was super comfortable, great shower with decent water pressure, clean towels and a hairdryer located in the under bed draws. Milk and tea/coffee etc left for us-it really was a perfect stay and very close to Lyme Regis/west bay is a little further but within a short driving distance. Beautiful tranquil setting surrounded by nature and if your lucky, you may get the meet the resident dog who seems particularly keen on a bbq sausage 😂😂

Nothing not to like!! Maybe a fan would have come in handy as it was very warm but not an issue.

Lovely location, waking up to nothing but bird song is wonderful!. Clean, tidy and the owners were very accommodating, nothing too much trouble.

It was lovely and peaceful, the hut was cosy, loved the little fire heater my friend wanted to take it home😊. On arrival we had milk, biscuits tea coffee etc which was a welcome touch after a long journey. Easy access to local attractions. Met Martin he was lovely and very knowledgable of things todo and the best places to eat. We will be back !!

Nothing about the stay my friend did the WiFi though 😊
