"A lovely place to relax and see Chichester."

10.0

The property is about a 10minute walk along the canal into town. We were fortunate enough to see a female swan tucking in her babies for the night with Dad sitting close by, to protect her. The town has lots of lovely places to eat and some lovely shops. The host had thought of everything from teabags, to bathroom shampoo.

There was nothing we didn’t like.

"Not quite as it seems, but a really well equipped place to stay."

8.0

The house facilities were excellent. Amazing range of kichen equipment and generous supplies. Could not be faulted. The owner has clearly put grat thought into making guests as comfortable as possible.

However, the advertisement paints a picture of an idylllic property on the side of a tranquill canal. In fact it is the last of a series of terraced houses on a cramped modern housing estate, within thirty metres of the A27 Chichester by-pass. Road noise is a problem. In warmer months it would be perfectly possible to sit in the pleasant patio area and look out on the canal, although there is not immediate access to the towpath. Once found, the house is delightful. But it was difficult to locate the property in the dark. Access was via unlit narrow path past other terraced house frontages, then last few yards on muddy grass to gate. The shower/bath required careful handling to avoid any water getting outside bath/shower. The bath was very slippery - care required.

Great to have some items avaialble to eat drink on arrival - lovely coffee and sweet bits. Can't comment on host (although I am sure she is lovely) as I only communicated with her via mobile/email/text etc. Fresh flowers a lovely touch - the only thing missing was a dustpan to sweep up! Thank you for letting us stay.

The hoover was a little awkward to keep getting out to use - it would have a been a bit easier to have a dustpan and brush to sweep up regularly that lovely floor!

Very cleverly used space - spacious room downstairs , comfortable bedrooms , very light and airy with patio doors downstairs. Individual and interesting furnishing . Restful ambience . Host had taken great care to provide refreshments, slippers, everything we could need. Beautiful fresh flowers everywhere. Nice walk along canal into town - just took 15 minutes.
