The Balconies Studio, The Marilyn Suite & The Crystal Apartment at Casa of Essence in Old San Juan

Location was excellent, apartment was clean and easy to get into and very comfortable. I would only say that having more than 2 glasses in the kitchen would be a nice addition but we managed with coffee cups. We had an issue at some point getting in and host responded right away. Overall it was a pleasant stay and I would stay here again. thank you!

This location was an amazing base to explore Old San Juan. The three Balconies overlooking the colorful street were beautiful, and we felt really safe with all of the secure entries. The kids loved the birds in the lower level patio.

The main room AC unit was not working, there weren’t any sheets for the sofa bed (which we needed to utilize for 6 people), kitchen was a bit ill equipped: no sponge or wash rag to do dishes with, no hot water in kitchen, two wine glasses, limited utensils for 6 people. The shower was a bit difficult to get hot water (you have to have it almost off all the way to get it hot). If you are planning to eat out all the time, many of these things won’t matter for you!

Location was excellent! Room was stocked with most key things you'd need for your trip. Host was accommodating with luggage storage. Definitely a great spot to experience san juan life and be able to explore the area!

Noisy- the slamming of the door to the building by other guests was loud and echoed up the staircase. Street noise if you are a light sleeper could also be a bit of a problem.

Good location at the beginning of the old town, so you can get dropped off at Plaza de Colón and walk 5 min. to the apt. without getting stuck in the traffic in the narrow streets of the old town. From there, everything is in easy reach by foot. The apartment on the second floor has a decent size and has two balconies overlooking the street. The furniture and decoration are fine and actually not as tacky as anticipated from the pictures, and the apt. was clean. There is a cute interior patio with tropical greenery on the same floor (and birds on the ground floor).

Obviously, there is street noise from neighboring bars in the evening and from delivery trucks in the morning, but that's to be expected and with closed windows it was not so bad. The aeration slit between the bathroom and the staircase mentioned by others is a non-issue because nobody can see in.

Really enjoyed my stay. The location is perfect. Very spacious and clean apartment, host is very responsive and flexible. Small and cute balcony

It is a bit noisy when people are entering the building, just because they slam the door and speak very loudly

General Location, overall room set up, shower separate from bath and having a veranda. Also liked having a market next door for supplies.

Very noisy corner location so because the window doors did not close securely we heard everything and they kept banging all night with the wind, so hard to sleep. The bed was very hard.
