Big room good facility

Check in time is too late

The hotel is in a town south of Kurume. You need a car to get there, but it's worth the trip because the quality of the room is quite good compared to hotels in big cities and the views are nice, as the hotel is surrounded by tea plantations. There are also plenty of chain restaurants like Sushiro/Coco Curry/Starbucks very near, so it's not really that remote. One can visit by car nice parks and temples around the area (Koura Taisha, Daihonzan Temple, Kiyomizudera Temple). The room is very large, and ours also had an attached bathroom with a very large tub. I have only seen rooms of this size in ryokans in Japan. As the place also functions as a love hotel, children are not allowed, but otherwise it's very quiet, and you can check in and out using a machine (although the staff helped us because we are foreigners). There is a large parking below the hotel. Our reservation also had daily breakfast included, which was coffee, toast and eggs, simple but sufficient, brought to our room at a pre-decided time every day. Finally, a lot of older reviews complain about the mechanism to enter/exit the room. This is solved, on check-in a QR code is printed (you can take a photo if you fear losing it) and this is used to open the room when entering or exiting. It auto-locks after 1 minute. Finally, the QR code is scanned to check out.

Accesibility: this was not an issue for us and it's due to how the hotel is designed, but there are stairs to climb/descend from/to the parking lot every time you enter/exit. This can be an issue for those with reduced mobility and heavy luggage.

The receptionist is really friendly and can use a little bit English. The room is really big and beautiful with all necessary amenities. Since it’s a love hotel, they take guests’ privacy seriously.

I guess this can’t be helped but the hotel is really in the middle of nowhere, I have to travel to quite a long distance completely in dark to reach a place to eat.

The room and bathroom were very spacious. The bathroom has a jet tub. They even provide a facial mask and some cosmetic care products. Free covered parking. Very reasonable rates!

Need to call each time when you leave or come back the unit, no keys.

not used to system of being locked in and having to call to front desk for door to room to be opened. Worried in case of danger, fire, earthquake etc and in case front desk cannot respond, and end up trapped. not sure if this is compliant with fire safety regulations. Money for room was already deducted and hence we went on with the booking though not comfortable. didnt sleep well that night.

This place is a safety hazard. You are locked in your room once entered and closed the door. You can't get out in your own unless you call the front desk. This is very dangerous in case of fire and earthquake, especially when none of the staff speak English.
