Hotel & Restaurante Arca de Noé

The staff were very attentive and helpful. The room was clean and a good size with lots of hooks. It's very close to the boat dock and one of the first stops from Pana.

There were 2 shared toilets which were the same toilets that restaurant guests use. The shared shower stall is in that same area and can be a bit awkward depending on when you take a shower and how busy the restaurant area is.

The location of the hotel is amazing. It’s only 1 minute away from the boat and our room had a direct view of the lake.

The hotel is located next to the road meaning you’ll have to deal with a lot of noise from tuktuks, street dogs and drunk people from other hostels. For some reason the staff started cleaning and playing videos on their phones in front of our room around 07:00 AM. Different from other hostels we stayed in water was not freely available, we received one small carafe of water a day and when we asked if we could fill up our bottle the answer was that we were allowed one bottle a day. The shared bathroom was located next to the toilets of the restaurants, small, dirty and extremely outdated. Hardly any options to hang your clothes and we didn’t have hot water. The food and drinks at the restaurant were extremely high compared to others in the village, 18 quetzales for a tiny cup of black coffee and when we asked for some warm water they charged us 5 extra.

The views over the lake are great! The space is really beautiful with a big garden. There is a nice restaurant with good food. We had the best shower we had in Guatemala so far!

The blanket was a bit small for 2 people. The hotel is next to the ferry and there aren’t many restaurants in that part of the village (we found only 3), but the ones that are there are nice

Our stay at Hotel Arca de Noé was absolutely wonderful! The location is unbeatable, right on the shores of Lake Atitlán, offering breathtaking views of the water and surrounding volcanoes. Waking up to such a stunning panorama was a highlight of our trip. The rooms are cozy and comfortable, creating a peaceful retreat. The breakfasts were delicious, freshly prepared, and a great way to start the day. The staff was warm and accommodating, making our stay even more enjoyable. Highly recommended for a serene and unforgettable experience!

We had happy hour, dinner and wine the first night and the day after in the mirning I asked to a lady of the staff for a cup of hot water that I needed for my medication and she asked for money. That was unacceptable for me. They need to improve their customer service.

The location is amazing and the gardens are well-kept. It was an amazing view and nice to sit outside on the terrace. The staff was very helpful and generous.

Unfortunately, our room was not in a great condition. Please don’t get me wrong. The linens and towels were totally clean but there were just a few things making us feel uncomfortable during our stay: - The door could not be locked from the inside because the hinge was misaligned and could not lock the door. - The condition of the room was generally bad. I‘m specifically speaking about the many spiderwebs, gravel on the ground, holes in the walls and we were afraid that animals could come in. - Insects were also coming in from the bottom of the door since there was room enough for them to enter. We even spotted a small scorpion quite close to the gap of our door. - The window was now really insulated but rather just a piece of metal that kept it closer to the wall. Again: this could not protect us from the insects coming in at night. - There seems to be an ant-nest at the patio in front of our room, since there were thousands of ants crawling inside one of its holes. - We also had an issue with some animal living/nesting in between the wooden planks and the metal roof since we heard quite heavy steps at night. - We knew that we would have a shared bathroom, but we didn’t expect this bathroom to be the public restaurant toilet which was also not in the best condition. I think these issues only apply to the room which we booked, since everyone else seemed happy but in my opinion, this room should not get rented out until the given points above have been addressed.
