Modern Off Grid Tiny Home!

It was near Haleiwa. Members of my family have lived in Haleiwa (over 50 years) and I have visited many times during those 50 years. Their home is being remodeled and I wanted to stay close to Haleiwa.

Difficult location to find especially when I was given the wrong gate code. Extreme heat made it unlivable during the day even with limited air conditioning. Needs bigger sign to identify the location from the road. I didn’t expect much and that’s what I got.

First, after ththe booking they wanted me to lie and say I was a volunteer. Secondly, just before our scheduled arrival date, they sent me a waiver to sign. Not only am I disappointed with the owners but also with Booking for offering them on your site. Makes me wonder why you accept such properties!!!!

It’s not suitable for renting. It’s super hot and extremely hard to find it. To live, you need flow all instructions in a PDF which they don’t mention on the listing. The AC is low powered and only working for the bedroom and with all glass imaging you stay in the steamer. Also, you need to deal with bugs. We finally found somewhere else to live. My suggestion is DO NOT CHOOSE this and “something like this”.

The view in the morning was nice. Was nice that it was off the grid. The owner asked for tips on how to improve things. 1. new walk way from where you park your car to the cabin, even just a wooden border with stones in it would make it look nice 2. fly wirer so you can air out the house without bugs getting in (portable?) 3. a snake plant, helps purify the air and low maintence. (or candles prehaps) 4. plates, bowls and cutlery 5. mini fridge, not a box and ice 6. bug spray 7. hand towel in the bathroom 8. a bean bag to relax on 9. some board games 10. hot water in the shower 11. Signage at the side of the road to indicate where to turn anyways hope this helps. wasn't trying to be mean.

I know it was off the grid, but when it says modern tiny home. you would expect there to be a fridge and have hot water for a shower in the house. The place did smell which wasn't ideal, but you get used to it. The say bring water and food and ice for the cooler which is fine. But they could at least provide bowls and plates would cutlery. Also don't arrive at night as its a nightmare to find. it was mentioned to look our for 4 red reflectors, but it didnt help when 2 of them had been knocked down.. so we kept on driving by expecting to notice 4 of them. we did eventually find the place but it was a hassle. would be more ideal if it had better signage

The view was nice

This accomodation is not well maintened, it is not cleaned properly, there is orange mold around the windows, dead flies behind the sofa, we did not know hot water wasn't available in the unit. this place looks great for instagram pictures thats it. I don't think this house is gonna be available to rent for long looking at how it already looks even tho it is supposed to be "new".

Views on property was excellent, very quiet and secluded. Lights on inside come outside automatically when it gets dark.

No hot water in unit , i understand it’s clamping but figuring out the water system would make this stay perfect and ideal for a long and comfortable glamping experience. When i think of glamping i think of those things included.
