Pebbles guest house room 8

i was in room 8 and as soon as i arrived I could detect the smell of smoke which was very off putting, the bed was not particularly comfortable but bearable for one night , my other point of annoyance was the kettle was not working it would turn itself on and off and the radiator wasnt working I was cold, this improved the next day but the radiators need to be bled. I attempted to contact the hosts that night but got no response to my call, text or email. I called the following day and smoke to some one in the property service and requested a refund the white towels were lovely.

Cold, radiator didn't work in my room. Rest of the property was warm so I believe this was just my room alone

Shay knew I was arriving at 11pm at night but neglected to tell me that the room lock is activated by full hand palm press. I had commuted 4.5 hrs by by train & then taxi - this info should have been WA'd to me in advance. No response at all (even days later ) to my any of my WA messages sent around 11.30 pm. Took me approx 30 mins to gain access to the room - not acceptable !! Other residents stole 3 items of my food from the fridge.. On Xmas day morning - 2 police were at the door. They were doing a missing person search & needed to contact current resident in room 7. They knocked on door - resident was asleep - they could hear him snoring. I gave Police WA details for Shay including mobile number.

I had a nice quiet room (room 8) at the top of the property. There was a kettle, tea and coffee which was nice. Towels were provided which was one less thing to think about. Parking in surrounding roads was plentiful and free. I would stay again.

I believe some rooms had a TV, but Room 8 didn't. This would have been nice as I didn't go out in the evening. Heating didn't work so I was cold, but I told the staff the next morning so they could bleed radiators or do whatever needs doing to fix the problem.

For the price it was perfect! Literally had the place to sleep in so it worked for me. Staff helpful and kind when I couldn't get in my room. Showed me how to use the lock properly. It's cheap and cheerful, perfect place to get your head down for the night. Dont expect the ritz

Bed mattress was thin but after a heavy night out I still managed to sleep pretty well! Light in the toilet didn't work which was annoying, had to use one across the hall and through a fire door. Only annoying for me as I was upstairs on a level that didn't have a loo. Just realised they do have rooms with private bathrooms so I'll book one of those next time.

The check-in was easy, some explanations helped to get in. For the rest it did what it had to do, but not more. The sign at the street says "short stay" and yes, it is exactly this.

The walls are keen of hearing. Luckily most people were considerate. The showers and toilets didn't seem to be very clean, the bathroom fittings haven't been in a good state and the water supply wasn't that easy to adjust regarding hot and cold. The furniture looked quite used. The whole thing left the impression that only the utmost necessary is done for comfort and usability.
