The chalet was very spacious......Jo the owner kept in contact and was a great host. Was very clean and comfortable. Dog friendly and free parking next to the chalet was great too. Is a haven as very peaceful and so quiet at night. Very dark at night so good for star gazing :-). I went to the Fox n Pheasant for food and the portions are massive! I had the steak pie which was lovely. Highly recommend this place as staff are very friendly and car park adjacent is free and plenty of spaces to park. Very dog friendly too. Would highly recommend and will certainly stay again :-) Recommend stopping at Brougham Hall...quirky and has independent shops and a cafe .....the door knocker on one of the old doors is very unusual .......see pics ...Went to Brougham Castle too but it was closed unfortunately.

Nothing i didnt like!

"Comfortable lodge in a great location."

8.0

Lovely spacious and cosy lodge, well equipped and in a pleasant location. Easy to get to the lake district and attractions in Carlisle or Penrith.

We struggled a bit with the lack of WiFi as our phones didn't always have good enough reception for data.
