"Enjoyable, kitchen is great with everything you may need for short or longer stays!"

Location

As it’s on a ground floor near a busy street, sometimes we felt overlooked. The bedroom needs blinds just like the ones in the bathroom. There are curtains but too dark for the daytime.

"A very enjoyable stay in York."

8.0

It's a large spacious modern ground floor flat with all the facilities that you'll need on your break in York. Cleanliness was pretty good there's a washing machine to clean your towels and if you need any washing done. There's so many extras like sugar, tea, coffee and milk in the fridge. The bedroom TV also has accounts for Netflix, Amazon & all the normal channel i-players. It's had a new kitchen fitted since the photos on Booking.com, very cool. The neighbours are very quiet and the flat is very central to York City and all it's interesting places.

I feel in the ivingroom there needs to be blinds or curtains put up to block the sun streaming in. I wouldn't like to have used it as a bedroom far too bright in the mornings. And you can't watch TV when it's sunny.

"Our Stay at 2 Drake Street. Great Location but...."

7.0

Location was Fantastic with a short walk to the station as well as to a lot of the Sites and Walks around the best parts of York Central but the best part was the 2 minute walk to one of the BEST local High Roads we've ventured down. An amazing Bakery, boutique shops, places to eat a great breakfast, a great curry or beautiful Thai and Chinese food - all just round the corner from 2 Drake Street. We also appreciated the tea etc that greeted us on arrival.

OK, arrived at 2 Drake St. and wanted a cup of tea after our long journey. But after boiling the kettle my Wife came close to burning her hand pouring water into a cup because the kettle was leaky - dangerous and not the best start. While investigating the kitchen we opened the dishwasher to find it warm and damp but still full dirty utensils and a filthy frying pan. The carpets throughout were bitty and stained with ingrained dirt. The settee/ sofa-bed arrangement was dirty and badly needed a good clean. We couldn't open curtains in bedroom and lounge as people walking past are just inches away and can see everything through the windows. And the kitchen also needs blinds as next door can see in too - a real lack of privacy. The back gate isn't secure. The shower tray was slippery and there was no towel rail/ airer to dry damp towels.

"A comfortable 3 days in a spacious apartment in a 'trendy' area of the city."

9.0

It is a spacious apartment on the ground floor of a corner house that used to be a pub until 2021 (The Old Ebor). Good lounge with large TV and a bedroom with double bed I think rather than king-sized. Smart TV here with Prime, Netflix, etc. The shower is a modern fitted one with good power. The kitchen had everything necessary for a short to longish stay including supplied sachets of tea, coffee and milk. We didn't have to use the washing/drying facilities but it was good to have them there, along with the small outdoor courtyard. The location is very good: a straight 15-20 mins walk from the station, just outside the city walls and therefore close enough to the centre of York, and in the clearly popular area of Bishopthorpe Road with its neighbourhood pubs, restaurants, craft beer and wine bars. (The area was listed in the best places to downsize in by the Daily Telegraph at the weekend!)

A positive in one way that when we arrived the boiler was not working. But a phone call to Yorcation was swiftly answered and Vicky there organised a plumber to arrive within the hour. But that sort of thing needs to be checked if the apartment has been vacant for a while.
