Drake St, close to York station and York Centre

It is a spacious apartment on the ground floor of a corner house that used to be a pub until 2021 (The Old Ebor). Good lounge with large TV and a bedroom with double bed I think rather than king-sized. Smart TV here with Prime, Netflix, etc. The shower is a modern fitted one with good power. The kitchen had everything necessary for a short to longish stay including supplied sachets of tea, coffee and milk. We didn't have to use the washing/drying facilities but it was good to have them there, along with the small outdoor courtyard. The location is very good: a straight 15-20 mins walk from the station, just outside the city walls and therefore close enough to the centre of York, and in the clearly popular area of Bishopthorpe Road with its neighbourhood pubs, restaurants, craft beer and wine bars. (The area was listed in the best places to downsize in by the Daily Telegraph at the weekend!)

A positive in one way that when we arrived the boiler was not working. But a phone call to Yorcation was swiftly answered and Vicky there organised a plumber to arrive within the hour. But that sort of thing needs to be checked if the apartment has been vacant for a while.

There was no tea towels there was one for 4 days no dish cloths the toilet was really dirty with one roll of toilet roll for 4 days the windows did not open the cupboards and drawers were dirty I had to wash the frying pan before I could use it I had to buy tea towels toilet rolls and dish cloths the advertisement clearly stated soap eat would be there there was no toilet cleaner and it was disgusting the kitchen chairs could not be sat on it was that dirty the man said we could not check in early as the cleaning was being carried out what bloody cleaning was done ??? The chairs for the outside were stuck in the shed outside covered in cobwebs and paint it's the worse place we have ever stayed and as you know we go a lot i have been really busy since I got back but I have pictures to show you as I am looking to have some money reimburse to us oh yes and it's not a short walk to the city centre it is if you drive if you walk like us it's a good half hour walk

The accommodation was amazing, it was very clean and a great size. I loved the shower and the fact that it had two big TVs.

The key safe was difficult to get into, the black slide button kept slipping, which was difficult with bags and crutches. Make sure you have a pen or something to push it down.

Location. Close to the train and 10 minute walk into the city. I used the city walls to move around. Loved it.

The only con I would have is that they need an oven mitt.

Truly convenient location. Exemplary clean: carpet, bedlinen, bathroom. Equipped for a long stay, including a brand new kitchen with plates and cuttlery etc., also featuring a washing machine and a dryer. Properly and straightforwardly heated.

Unpredictable and intermittent wifi. No toiletries, besides hand soap. Although it can indeed sleep two couples, the bathroom is essentially ensuite, which makes it awkard to use by the couple occupying the sofa bed in the living room.

Bed wasn’t to comfortable & no garden but this was ok as was a winter trip and we found no parking at the property a big problem
