Imperial Suites Heart Of Margate! sleeps 6

Host was really helpful in getting us in to the property and provided advice on parking. It's an excellent location with a long narrow balcony directly overlooking the beach. Nice kitchen and living room, plenty of space and storage. It's right next to a seafront "square" with cafe's and outside tables and chairs, we had a nice lunch on the first day and a good breakfast in the morning. The apartment is immediately above a pleasant bar restaurant and just up the road are lots of galleries, more restaurants and bars - it's central, good for the harbour and the beach, Morrisons supermarket is 5 minute walk away. The hallway has a bright modern lift to get to the 1st floor apartment. Parking was a bit of a challenge, but we found a car park across the road where we could park for up to four hours and free street parking between 6pm and 9am.

The external entrance and hallway are scruffy and badly in need of redecorating and maintenance, there is no handle to pull the door closed and holes in it where presumably there were once door locks. We used the stairs rather than the lift, and the stairs are scruffy with missing edging and the fire door from the 1st floor had missing glass in the bottom panel. The apartment has good facilities but also needs work, the laminate floor in the bathroom has water damage, the seals round the bath/shower are all peeling away and fittings (e.g. toilet roll holder) are cracked and damaged. The second bedroom has a small ensuite but this is out of use. In the living room/kitchen-diner, there is a sofa and a futon sofa both but are really uncomfortable to sit on which given that its otherwise a nice place to sit with a brilliant view over the beach and harbour is a real pity because it is a great location and otherwise a nice space.

Location is 10 out of 10. Right across from the beach and a stone's throw from the cute shops/cafes. It was above a late bar which was fine for us as we were a group of friends but I probably wouldn't stay on the weekend with my young children. The balcony is amazing. Bedrooms were fine and comfy but no proper curtains so bring your eye mask!! Kitchen well equipped, check in was super easy.

Could be better maintained...blocked sink and broken en-suite toilet. I wouldn't usually mention things like that but the apartment was pretty pricey for one night.

The location was brilliant, that was about it sadly.

There were no curtains so sleep was impossible. Glasses and bowls were dirty. Large window in bedroom 2 was broken and wouldn’t close. Every time the wind blew, it slammed. This carried on all night. Windows didn’t shut properly and the parts had fallen off/were on the windowsill. Fridge and freezer were off which wasn’t helpful when we’d bought food and drinks. Sofa was unbearably uncomfortable. Like sitting directly on springs. No one could have slept on that. Bar underneath - loud until 1am. No warning.

Beautiful apartment, exceeded my expectations- the pictures don’t do it justice. From the high ceilings, to all the natural light in all rooms and the beautiful views of the sea we couldn’t have asked for anything more. We also tried the bar/restaurant underneath the apartment- Imperial Meze, the food was so good and service were great. We were in Margate for a concert in dreamland and the walk along the seafront takes less than 10 minutes to get there. Perfect location if you want to be at the heart of everything!

The only thing I can really pick at (I wouldn’t mention it if the question wasn’t here lol) is the sofa isn’t comfortable but that is literally it!

Loved the sea view and being close to everything. Apartment very spacious, clean and had everything we needed.

The French windows are not very secure. Thudding of music from above but stopped around 10.30 pm

Location was amazing and the view from the balcony was really great in particular being right on the shorefront

None of the rooms had curtains so any more than 1 night would have been uncomfortable for sleeping. The sofa bed was also very uncomfortable.

This was the most perfect location, the property was clean tidy we were so happy, will definitely be returning
