Southview Holiday Park Skegness - Upgraded Caravan - Unica

Property was lush, very comfortable and clean. Would definitely recommend and the location was good for lots of attractions in the local area.

The location and the site was perfect.

No TV in bedroom as stated on pictures of caravan just unsightly holes left in the wall where it used to be. No cusions on sofa as on pictures. No bin bags in the bins on arrival. No toilet paper on arrival. Light bulb over dining area missing. Bedside lamps torn. No bottle or tin opener, rusty towel rail. A piece of wood keeping the door handle on the door in the bathroom.

The caravan hadn’t been cleaned properly, there was popcorn in the seats and a potty in the wardrobe in the main bedroom that looked like it had dried urine in it. We messaged the owner and sent pictures but he said that his cleaner had left it spotless and he didn’t see the issue, despite the pictures. One of the duvets was visibly soiled. The carpets were also stained and some of the crockery and glassware was dirty. There was no bulb in the light fitting over the table and the bedside lamps looked like they had seen better days. The caravan also didn’t reflect the pictures. There were holes in the wall in the bedroom where a TV was meant to be (the TV was in the pictures). The gas fire was loose too but we didn’t use that as the heating worked well when turned on. The toilet door had been repaired with a piece of plywood. The caravan was extremely basic. There was one toilet roll supplied, no washing up liquid/J cloths or bin liners to use in the bins. Literally there was nothing additional supplied by the host at all. The messages we received about our stay all mentioned cleanliness and treating the caravan like our home and to look after it. This was quite irritating because the place looked tired, unclean and uncared for and the hosts didn’t seem bothered and also didn’t reply to some messages (about the unsafe fire, the missing TV, the missing bulb…..)

Helpful that you could park outside the van. The heating was very efficient! The van warmed up so quickly. Nice quiet location away from the activity centre, restaurant, bar etc.

These things wouldn’t stop me staying at the location again, but just little things to mention - It says cleaning products and toilet roll - there was half a toilet roll in the bathroom and some surface spray in the kitchen, but no washing up liquid or hand soap. Which wasn’t a big deal because there was a shop down the road but would have been nice to know beforehand. Outdoor seating area - there isn’t any with the caravan, unless this meant seating around the campsite somewhere. The sheets/bedding in the twin room were quite dirty - but again I’d brought my own bedding so it wasn’t the end of the world. The WiFi wasn’t great - but this is on Parkdean, not the vendors.

Caravan was spotless, good location and great communication before arriving with good directions

The owner was very good at responding and even video called me when we had a problem with the boiler although this was due to needing a new gas bottle! This was sorted quickly by the site security team.

Great communication from host, nice clean caravan, bed was so comfy, lovely relaxed break, good location. Would stay again. Thank you.

Only thing I can think of was there was no batteries in the TV remote but we just brought some, no biggie really.
