Plymouth Hoe - Beautiful 5 Bedroom Victorian House - Central Location

The property itself was excellent – the location was great, it was very clean once we got in, and the space was perfect for our family. Everything inside met our expectations and made the stay enjoyable.

The check-in experience was disappointing. The official check-in time was 4pm, but when we requested an earlier check-in, we were told 3pm was possible. We arrived around 2pm, only to find that the cleaners had not yet arrived. Unfortunately, this meant we had to wait outside with the family, and in the end we weren’t able to get into the property until around 4:30–5pm. This part of the experience was frustrating.

Super friendly owner who was very communicative throughout the stay. The house was lovely, and in a great location.

It was all perfect. Only issue we had was we couldn’t work out how to lock the back sliding door but that was probably our stupidity !!

We had a brilliant time staying at this Victorian house in Plymouth from Sunday 24th August to Wednesday 27th August. The host was really great and very welcoming. The house was spotlessly clean – we were genuinely impressed with how tidy everything was. The kitchen was fully equipped with plates, cups, mugs, cutlery, pots, pans, and everything else you could need. The bedrooms were clean, tidy, and had a really homely feel. We also had the convenience of parking at the back of the house, which made our stay even easier. Overall, it was a wonderful experience and we would happily stay here again. Highly recommended!

Only had 3 issues with the property 1. Ensuite shower didn't get hot 2. Taps for the bath didn't work 3. Would be nice if the back doors opened to allow easier access to vehicle for packing/unpacking and gets quite hot in the dining room If full of people

1st cobwebs every other room 2nd damp mould smell throughout the house 3rd water leak marks in every room 4th toilet seats in every bathroom wobbly (not good for kids or elderly) 5th cleaning throughout the property very basic not booking.com property standard. 6th back patio door lock would not lock so had a unsecured property we stayed in (told owner but he chooses to ignore my messages) 7th was in contact with owner/host til I started to take photos and videos of the above .to which he ignored after we had a large family inc elderly/kids present in property had to leave all our belongings in our car every time we left the house .so much hassle,felt betrayed and ignored with our concerns. We were not happy at all that we spent £601.00 for two days without any security in the house and all items above . This is the worst booking.com property we have ever stayed at .

Great location, very near to Plymouth Hoe and the city centre. Secure off road parking for one car (although a little tight). Beds were very comfortable. The house was very clean (floors, kitchen surfaces, bathrooms etc). A grand Victorian building with high ceilings and lots of charm.

First of all, definitely read through other reviews to get the whole picture of this place because we were very disappointed upon arrival to find that this property did not live up to the expectations set out in the description. - No central heating during our entire 4 day stay. The property manager Alex did bring round some portable heaters, but really this is not good enough. He was also very dismissive during communications, saying the 'sun was a radiator' and the weather forecast over the weekend. Not especially helpful when the house loses all its heat through the single glazing in the evening. Very chilly evenings, nights and early mornings, especially for children. - No lock in the middle floor bathroom door. - Master bedroom en suite was 'out of service' and we had no prior knowledge of this. One of the reasons we booked was because of having three bathrooms. - Curtains in the master bedroom were hanging off the rails, meaning they couldn't be fully closed and early morning light came in. - No bulb in the bedside lamp of the other middle floor bedroom. - The sliding back door was locked (no key provided) in a wonky, partially open, position meaning that wind and rain could blow into the dining space; and that you could not use that door to access the car directly from the property or leave in an emergency. - Lots of evidence of damp on the walls throughout. - For a house that can accommodate 10, a dishwasher really is needed. - One tea towel was provided and although there is a dish drying rack, it can only sit directly on the worktop, so water cannot drain into the sink. - There is a washing machine but no clothes airer or anywhere to dry things. - Loose door handles, squeaky doors, loose carpet grippers contributed to a general feeling of neglect in some areas. This place has the potential to be amazing but the owners need to reflect upon feedback and make some changes.
