Price, free wifi access, communication and friendly staff. Hot water.

It was very bare and unwelcoming in the bedroom which was minuscule, the shared bathroom was very grimy, not clean and had broken shower parts left lying around. The bed smelled terrible as if the covers hadn’t been changed. The kitchen and lounge area seemed ok but wasn’t used by me. A bright light on the landing couldn’t be turned off and noises of other guests kept me awake through thin walls.

The location was good, and also very quiet. The door key and individual door security system worked well. There was ample communal relaxation space if you were so inclined, but it all looked a bit tired and worn. The fridge was iced over at the back, for example.

The communal shower Did. Not. Work. Really not acceptable. I would expect a communal bathroom situation to have a notice about how many people had to share it. Were some of the rooms ensuite? It would be helpful to know, given there were 6 different bedrooms accommodating guests, with only one obvious bathroom. The bottom sheet was a bit gritty with something. The towel smelt slightly sour. The soundproofing was poor between rooms, so prepare for sleep disruption.
