"Lovely stay, would go again."

9.0

My kids called it the upside down house as all the bedrooms are downstairs. This is actually lovely as you have the upstairs veranda to share. Everything you could need was provided, and the location was great for travelling to local areas. The onsite pub had great food and atmosphere, too. The hot tub was a bonus, and we used it almost every day. You're close to neighbours, but it didn't feel like it. Everyone seemed to have the same thoughts. We wanted to relax and enjoy it. Even the woman's football on when you had windows shut couldn't hear anything from other cabins. There is a shower in the bath that was amazingly powerful and a separate shower in the other toilet room. Having 2 toilets was a great bonus. As well as two showers. There are no tvs in the bedrooms, so I would advise you to take a tablet or laptop if you're someone who sleeps with a tv on usually. My kids always have nighttime lullaby and fishes on their tv, but using the tablet was more than adequate as the fresh air made them sleep wonderfully The beds were incredibly comfortable, which again was a great addition to our stay. There is WiFi in the cabin and when at the pub.

Only access to the hot tub is through the master bedroom, so whoever slept in that room, we had to wait for them to wake up to be able to use it. It wasn't a huge issue as we mostly used it in the evening. The floor upstairs is quite creaky, so having children under the kitchen in that twin room would've been better whilst adults were still awake. Make sure you wear some sort of shoe on the wooden decking as one of us managed to get a big splinter. Probably common knowledge for most, but we haven't had decking before, so it was a quick lesson. From the road, you have to go up 3 steps and then an old path to get to the entrance. This was OK, but when it rained, it was very slippery, so just be cautious.

"Lodge was nice enough , a little dated now but comfortable enough."

The booking system for the pool was a little strange .the signing to the actual lodge was not the best . Could not get the TV to work but the host did try to help via message once we told him . Still didn’t work.

Location / layout and comfort - it was great for us as a family.

I liked that it was safe and secure - loved the hot tub and the fact there were dvds and family games already there!

We LOVED this property, and intend to visit again next year! Right from the moment I booked, Alan couldn't be more helpful and friendly. This just straight away put me at ease with our booking. The property itself is an excellent location - it is on the edge of the park so the view ahead is pure countryside which was lush. Some of the other lodges were very close with a view of the backdoor of the lodge in front but not this one, so we felt super lucky, It was such quiet area of the park but still only a few mins walk from the onsite pub. All rooms were cute and very clean - towels provided which is super handy and it was spotless. it had pretty much everything we needed to be able to cook without taking pots and pans with us. Hand soap, tea towels and bin bags provided. Cutlery, plates, bowls, glassware, plastic cups and also mugs provided too. The photos of this property do not do it justice at all! more than enough room for a larger family and the hot tub was an added bonus!! all worked perfectly. I would highly recommend this place! and for the price its incredible! hot water took a little while to come on but that to be expected just be patient :) The holiday park itself was nice and quiet, I would say its an old fashioned holiday park so not loads of attractions but I like that, too often we get unwillingly put in a position to walk through arcades and money guzzlers in more commercial parks, so i liked that this was more laid back and chilled. Boys enjoyed playing the giant chess. Indoor pool open but we didn't use so cant comment but looked fit for purpose. Outdoor pool was not open yet but I guess this is due to us visiting early April. Prices in the pub reasonable by todays standards. there is an aldi in the next town over about 20min drive, and we also visited adrenaline quarry which was great for the kids and again about a 20min drive. Copper mine just back over the other side past the Devon boundary about 30mins away which is also worth a Visit.

Nothing was all great!
