Casa Amelia - Charme in Taormina

Lovely apartment right in central Taormina. The apartment has everything you need, including a fabulous coffee machine! Roomy bathroom and two spacious bedrooms add to the good sized kitchen and living space. Lovely views from the two little balconies and fabulous roof top area! Ugo, our host, was superb and gave us special attention, lots of information and a personal touch.

The bed was a bit firm for us, but we found a quilt in the cupboard and used it as a mattress topper. Problem solved!

It was spacious, had everything you needed. Ample supplies provided of necessities like toilet paper, towels, Coffee etc. Amazing views from the terrace. Our host Ugo went above and beyond for us. He was our tour guide, our Dr, our shopping guide, he helped us pay a fine and helped us with anything and everything we needed. We received such a high level of service from Ugo that we have never experienced from a host before. You will not find a better host

Stairs and parking but that’s Taormina. Our host found us free parking close to a free shuttle bus so it wasn’t a problem.

The host was exceptional. Ugo welcomed us immediately, easing our entry to Taormina with parking assistance and getting our luggage to the apartment. He provided many travel suggestions and detailed notes to maximize the enjoyment of our stay in Taormina and the rest of our journey in Sicily. The beds were comfortable and the apartment was extremely clean and nicely decorated. The location was superb - a few steps away from the main boulevard and access to a rooftop terrace with an amazing view. We will return!

There are several steps to access the apartment — it didn’t bother us at all but may be difficult for those with mobility issues.

Location conveniently located a few steps away from Corso Umberto & was reasonably quiet. Apartment was spacious, rooftop balcony an added bonus with stunning views. We booked months in advance having read outstanding reviews of hosts No 1 who manage property in second half of month as outlined on Booking.com.Their communication was excellent. We then had to change our dates to first half of month so moving forward our communication would be with Host No 2 We had some issues prior to & on arrival & when Host No 2 did not respond we reached out to No 1 hosts having had contact with them previously. Host No 1 was empathetic & kindly offered to meet us. He was the most caring, genuine & professional person & tried to help us in every way possible. He gave up his precious time & took us on a tour, sent lots of really helpful information on what to see in Taormina & surrounding area as well as fabulous restaurant & food recommendations & a lovely bottle of Sicilian wine to enjoy. These actions absolutely turned our stay in Taormina into a most enjoyable, happy experience. Thankyou so so much Host No 1

We are sorry to have to leave this review but certain things cannot be overlooked: Host No 2 did not respond to our initial communication & cancelled meeting us at the property for check-in Check-in details were sent last minute, brief, lacked clarity & cryptic photos that left us guessing how to find apartment Bed in second bedroom was not made up despite advising we were 2 single women requiring 2 separate beds. We eventually located sheets & made up bed ourselves Floor was really dirty & within 5 minutes of walking on it our feet were filthy ( photo attached) Oven was not working - Host No 2 only mentioned this after our arrival Glassware was really dirty ( see before & after photos) Cutlery needed cleaning before use No welcome note or instructions made available to us in apartment Shower caddy had not been cleaned - soap scum clearly visible & lids open to half used bottles of leftover shampoo & bodywash We requested these issues be rectified but Host No 2 did not visit apartment to do so

Very nice and spacious apartment, the views from kitchen and lounge room are amazing. Very well equipped. Rooms nice and spacious. And location is amazing. Right on the doorstep of Taormina. Everything is ready to go, shower and heaters worked well, and the breeze when windows opened was amazing. The rooftop terrace has some of the best views of Taormina. Ugo by far is the best host from all our travels over many years. So accomodating and shares with you everything you need to know and do here. We spent a lunch with Ugo and his lovely wife and had a ball. Ugo finds nothing too hard, and is always thinking of his guests. We truly have a new family friend. I would highly recommend a stay here, you won’t look back.

We loved everything!

Perfect location in Taormina. Close to everything. Large comfortable space with beautiful views from the rooftop patio. Well thought out directions to drop off luggage near the apartment were very helpful. Overnight parking just a short walk away.

Our amazing host Ugo went above and beyond to advise and help us with everything for our stay!

For two senior ladies there were too many steps to manage with our luggage. Our hosts were very good to promptly answer questions and provide information by What’s App….also very understanding about a small lamp that I accidentally damaged

Could not use the stove. Workers fixing nearby buildings were sometimes noisy with machinery
